Using the D4 diagnostic screen multiple times in one session
Hi Guys,
I just got my D4 a couple of days ago and I was wondering if it was really necessary to switch off the car engine if you decide to access the diagnostic screen more than once during a same driving session, as posted here: http://www.disco4.com/forum/topic44222.html (second post).
So I tried to do it on the move and it worked, and I tried again without turning the engine off and it worked again. I also found out that the method is a bit different from what was originally posted on that thread. There are actually two invisible buttons: one in the middle of the gray bar and the other one in the "Menu" word on the "Main Menu" home screen. I guess this is the method used for the D3 (already posted here too).
I published a video on youtube showing it on the move, multiple times without switching the engine off and while using the IPod. (sorry about the poor video quality and music. Also, I was driving while doing this so it's very shaky).
Here it is. Hope it helps those who are are still in doubt about the process:

Looks at though im off out in the car again to try lol.

Yeah Pete, exactly! I pressed the Video Input/Rear View Camera.
I knew you would try this as well. LOL
I don't think the menu changes when the engine is started. It would be a surprise to me. But you are the expert, maybe you noticed something I didn't.
Let me know if yours work the same.

The reversing camera while going forward could be handy for injecting DVD video into
Pete
PS Paulp, did you work anything out about what we spoke about ?

Hey guys is the fault codes on that screen for the whole car or just entertainment module

Picked up our new XS on Friday & tried out a couple of the "tricks" posted on here BUT!! it looks like they have changed the Satnav diagnostics. I tried the method in Nandos video, but instead of having to press the hidden centre button on the "menu" bar & then the "menu" button, all I had to do was press the centre for 6 seconds which brought up the screen shown in the photo. The 753 code doesn't work. Any ideas anyone or am I missing something?
I also tried the plugging the seatbelt in 9 time trick to disable the "bong", that doesn't work either. Methinks LR have caught up

Ooh that's peculiar. The pin pad is the other way up to mine 753 is the bottom left to top right diagonal. Perhaps 159 will work now?!

That's odd. Your diag screeen layout looks pretty different form mine as shown in the video I posted...
