England 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 Base 7 Seat Manual Cairns BlueDiscovery 3

NJF - from the manual

Quote:
Driving in arduous conditions
When a vehicle is operated in extremely
arduous conditions, more frequent attention
must be paid to servicing requirements.
For example: If your vehicle experiences deep
wading conditions, even daily servicing could
be necessary to ensure the continued safe and
reliable operation of the vehicle.
Arduous driving conditions include:
• Driving in dusty and/or sandy conditions.
• Driving on rough and/or muddy roads
and/or wading.
• Driving in extremely hot conditions.
• Towing a trailer or driving in mountainous
conditions.

Personally i knew my intercooler was loaded with crud because MPG was down - circa 20mpg, whereas it used to average 24'ish. I washed it out and had it serviced and the last 500 miles my mpg is more around the 25-26 mpg mark Very Happy
If the weather is clement this weekend, then it's getting another hosing and i'm putting the mantec plate back on.

You don't want to know. Servicing every 3000 miles, with extra bits included. Works out about £3,000 for 15,000miles of servicing Crying or Very sad
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

CFB Your fan noise is due to an engine temp increase because it is working harder. The fan cuts in to drag more air through the radiator to cool the 'coolant' within it. I expect there is an issue with the viscus fan or fan sensor.

I have had a blocked intecooler on several occasions and the fan behaves as normal. The only times I have had roaring issues with the fan were due to faulty temp sensors or a faulty fan, Oh and driving over the atlas mountains which cuts the fan in as the air is thin so needs to be cooled to condense it to give better performance.
