I quite like the front shot:

However I still feel the side profile makes it look unproportional and distorted and loses some of that 'chunky charm' created by the big black wheel arches.

I like it. I was cleaning mine yesterday and the sun was shining on it. The paint looked really good considering it mileage, but the black plastic around the wheelarches looked very untidy, with lots of ingrained dirt and scratches.

Now I know that painted wheel arches would still get scratched off road, but the plastic seems to scratch a lot easier than the paint on my car! If the new arches use paint as hard as the body paint, then they may actually be more durable than the current arches.

The wheelarches on our Defender became temporarily load-bearing (see Mrs Do$h/Ditch thread in OT) last week and there's no damage to them at all.

NS sill trim and door look a little less straight than standard, but the wheelarches were fine

Forget the looks, are there any changes under the skin? new engine tune or size?

LR change the spec and exterior looks with shiny tat on a weekly basis, so the looks above ain't no great shakes....in my humble opinion, which i'm entitled to.

There's a reason why most of those shots are taken with the suspension lower than drivable!!!

In silver it looks taller than a Routmaster bus (but not as wide)

IMHO, sad end to a design classic.
