The D3s have a fuse behind the glovebox that stops the starter.
Only thin wire needed for a switch in that example

Have a look in your owners manual at what the fuses do

The D3's also have a physical key, which won't be that much of a deterrent but having to have a cloned passive 'chip' once they're in is much more of an issue.
