Wanted: Lord of the manor 'experience': shooting/prep/eat

As the title really

Would like a venue in the south east or within an hour of London for a day trip.

We'd like to shoot game or rabbits, prepare them and feast on them in the evening.

Can any members offer this or steer me in the right direction?

Possibly for 6 adults, date is not a problem.

Cheers in advance

Neil

Jason this needs to be kept On topic, Shooting is dear to mine an quite a few peeps on this forum. Game shots really must earn the right to shoot quarry I stay away from most corporate shoots, because novice shots and game is so wrong in so many ways

Shocked Agree Ken, to Hunt you need experience, or someone experienced with you. Not purely for safety, but the hunted's welfare. I for sure would'nt want a wounded animal scampering off to expire in suffering TBH

Sorry Neil, I'm with Ken on this. You'll struggle to find anywhere to shoot game as novices, unless you go on a commercial game shoot and individually pay for loaders/coaches. A commercial shoot will want a minimum of 150 bird day so could work out quite expensive.
Rabbit shooting may be a bit easier in regards to allowing you to shoot (usually with air rifles)but there is never a guarantee of them being about to shoot especially with 6 peoples worth of noise!
There was a survival type event planned on here for October I think which was how to prepare and cook game/rabbit etc.

Didn't expect to ruffle that many feathers!!!

Of course I wasn't expecting to be let loose with a gun and run amock on an estate - more the guidence/guide Snowy mentioned.

Thanks for the advice Snowy, I'll take that onboard and see where we end up.

I did speak with TFC about the next course Smile

Oi Kenneth, wind ya neck in or I'll slap ya on Saturday

NeiD,

I totally agree with the guys regarding experience. If your looking for a really good day out involving guns, why not considerer the Royal Shooting Grounds at Bisley. They can tailor a programme for your party, i.e a variety of guns/ long range target rifels in the morning, then an excellent (alcohol free) lunch followed by an incredable Clay shoot in the afternoon and all with experienced instructors, then followed up with a few drinks and dinner before you leave. Not a cheap day out but truly day to remember and it's right on your doorstep Thumbs Up

Have you thought of a simulated day, these are run on the lines of a proper driven shoot with the same stop for lunch and dinner etc. A lot of big shooting estates do it too - if you have enough money Laughing You will need a few more people to shoot though and no matter how long you cook them clays are chewy Shocked

Ken and Snowy are spot on game shooting is not about shooting feathered targets and those of us that do it are likely to be touchy about it Thumbs Up
