Warranty

I have just extended the warranty on my D3. I have taken out the Allegiance Plus option for £894.00. The cut off for extended warranty is 80000 miles I am now on 77000. This extra warranty starts on the day the standard 3 years warranty runs out, so my car will have 4 years cover. Although I am selling the car in the next few weeks I wanted the new owner to have the benefit of an extended warranty cover.
In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Andy, was this bought through LR, as I was quoted just over £700 to extend the original 3yr warranty for 12 months extra, is your warranty EXACTLY like the LR one?, cheers

Paul.

£894 for 3k miles = 30p per mile - just as well your not keeping the vehicle.

I'm on 65k now - 2 years exactly today!!!.
Still as good as new!!
If thats what they're offering I think I'll just keep mine on year 3, without extended warranty.
It'll be finance free, therefore I should expect and be able to afford the odd big hitting bill.
Reckon I'll still put something away each month to build up a 'repair fund' to cover the costs.

I think the cut of of 80,000 is when you can take the warranty out, not when the warranty ends. Is that right Andrew?
Does it cover you as per the std warranty or more? or less?

Fair point Bodsy, no doubt Andrew will advise.

The problem i have had with extended warranties is; if and when you come to claim, they say that it's not covvered due to 'wear and tear' .. seem to defeat the objective!!!

I have been waiting for Land Rover to sort out the extended warranty options on a D3 for the last few weeks. I have been unable to get the figures until yesterday as I was told that they had not actually sorted the extended warranty. They gave me two options £709.00 for 'The Allegiance' and £894.00 for the 'The Allegiance Plus'

So my warranty is a LR one. Its The Allegiance Plus option. I think that if you request and pay for the warranty before 60000 miles then it would be cheaper Wink

Right:-

The extended warranty starts when the car is 3 years old and lasts for one year regardless of mileage.

You can buy the extended warranty whenever you like as long as you do this in the 3 year standard warranty period.

However you cannot buy the extended warranty once the vehicle has gone over 80000 miles.

The 'covered' items will depend on the type of warranty you take out, please ask your dealer for info.
