Warranty From Dealer vs LR Warranty
A couple of weeks ago LR sent me a flyer to quote me a further years warranty when mine runs out in mid November.
This was about £725 for the year and about £920 I think if LR Assist included.
I was close to signing up for this then at the weekend the dealer I bought the car from sent me a letter stating he can offer me an extended warranty for about £525 per year and this includes breakdown and home assist
This is from Inchcliffe or whatever the holding company is.
Anyone know if this will be as good as the standard LR WarrantyD4 HSE - Aintree Green
D4 Orkney my13 - gone
Stornaway D4. Gone, Didn't like it at all
D3 silver manual. Loved my first LR

Don't forget it's not a LR warranty, LR dealers sell Car Care Plan products and it's nothing to do with LR apart from the branding. Lots of opinions re aftermarket warranties, search others' experiences & read what is & what isn't covered. I think WD are the one to go for, others hate them with avengance. Some swear by the LR/CCP product coz it's easier but you don't get wear & tear cover and they are a few hundred quids more. Pays yer money & takes yer choice.

If you are talking about Inchape we have just taken out 3 years of warranty with them to start in a years time when the LR warranty runs out.
I questioned about 'wear and tear' and have an email from the business manager at the dealership saying even stuff like suspension arms will be covered till the end of the warranty.
He says it is the same company as the LR warranty.
We paid £1295 and that includes 3 years of breakdown.

Make sure it is worth the paper it is written on. Ask for the written terms and conditions for each warranty and compare.
Check who the ultimate provider of the warranty is in each case
Check where the provider is based, if they are based out of the the jurisdiction - avoid.
Read the small print carefully, especially the definitions (these are typically in the early part of the terms and conditions and may consist of words in bold or capitals or words in quotation marks or a combination of them. A well drafted document will have a heading saying "definitions and interpretation". Expressions like "defect" may be unduly restrictive and will not necessarily have their ordinary everyday meaning. This is where most providers like to hide things.
Read the exclusions carefully.
If you're not sure about the meaning of a particular term put a query in writing to the dealer asking for a written explanation. That way if there is a possibility for a claim for misrepresentation you will have the evidence. Watch out for "entire agreement clauses", these are designed to exclude liability for pre-contract statements - read salesman speak.
If you do get hold of the t&c's post them on here so we can see what each covers.
