warranty inspection
just had my D3 serviced and mot'd for the first time at independant garage. dealer called yesterday and left a message reminding me of service and MOT being due in 4 weeks, but also the warranty inspection.
I'm just wondering now if its worthwhile calling back dealer to ask for the warranty inspection, and tell them the MOT and service is already done ?
Is that just something they offer you to try and capture the business of your 3rd year service, or do they really go looking for items they can offer to fix for you a couple of weeks before your warranty expires?
anyone got any experience of this? Its the first time I heard of a dealer doing this for you....

I bought my D3 just before end of warranty from a non-franchise dealer miles away and local LR dealer offered me "end of warranty inspection". They found a few things to do under warranty, but I suspect it is more to do with generating turnover than customer service.A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. There is no official "end of warranty check" run by dealers..If LR got wind then they would be in trouble
LR's rules, if servicing and find issue that could be sorted under warranty then unless it's safety related or could cause a larger repair bill later unless reported as an issue by owner, leave it alone.TLO has left the building.......

called dealer and told them my mot and service were already done, but I asked what the warranty inspection was about and was told that it was just something they done while the car was being serviced, it wasnt a "bolt on" activity.
So looks to me like its a marketing ploy to capture your business on the 3rd year service and MOT.
I think the service and mot I had done at independants would have highlighted any issues anyway.....I hope....

Nope! Mine has now been back twice for warranty things they did not find four weeks earlier. I don't suppose there is a test for locks jamming and bits dropping off though.
