Am thinking of getting a Warrior (used to be called Champion) S9500 high speed winch with plasma rope for the D4. Anybody had any experience with one?
Discojools 2.7 D4 eDiff, Traxide Dual battery, Safari Snorkel...Opposite Lock winch bar..extra set 17" wheels with 245/70/17 BFG KM2 MTs..Warrior winch..Long range tank.
1982 2dr RRC renovated.
1983 Range Rover 2dr fitted with 300Tdi (with bigger turbo), 40mm body lift, Warn 9000i winch and BFG MT 265/75/16. Rear Maxidrive locker
1976 Landcruiser BJ40 with tipper body for the farm!!

Can't comment on the Warriors but .....
I have a 'Winch-It' unit on my D4. 13,000lbs capacity, came with synthetic rope for £350 inc p/p. The ad claims they are made in the same factory as other more well known (& more expensive) brands. Comes with wireless remote control & sits straight into the LR OE winch bumper (designed for Warn).
I have had to use it in anger to get myself out of a hole or two & so far it's done everything asked of it.
Search eBay, the guy that imports them is very helpful.
The price & pull/weight capacity was what swung it for me & I don't regret the choice. Nick

Thanks for that..they are so cheap now. The Warrior is a third of the price of a Warn with synthetic rope... Ordered a warrior toady.. 2.7 D4 eDiff, Traxide Dual battery, Safari Snorkel...Opposite Lock winch bar..extra set 17" wheels with 245/70/17 BFG KM2 MTs..Warrior winch..Long range tank.

Hi Disco Jools, the very first base model D4 Gs were all 2.7,only the the higher spec early D4 are 3.0.
