Water in fuel warning message

I have twice recently got a "water in fuel" message centre warning. Each time the tank was close to empty (range 25-40 miles). Filling with fresh diesel made the message go away. Has anyone had the same problem or does anyone know if it should be taken seriously? Mine's a Disco 3 on a 57 plate.

Had the same 2 years ago.

Eventually turned out to be intermittent high resistance in the wiring loom. Replaced under waranty. No problems since.

If there is any water in fuel, it will show at the fuel filter.

Matty don't start worrying about all the fault messages you haven't seen yet. Laughing

Next thing you'll be buying a fault code reader so you can fret about the ones that were logged but didn't come up on the dashboard!

Just enjoy the Mr. Green

Had the same thing happen on my o7 about three weeks ago. Checked at the filter,ie drained about half a litre into a clean bowl not a drop of water could be seen. Put it all back together no 'water in fuel' message has come up since. Take it as just a glitch in the system. Just coming up to 25000 so it is time for a new filter.

Had the same 3 times in the last couple of weeks. 30k, serviced 5k ago so should have had filter changed? Crying or Very sad
Full & half tank of fuel.
Only happens from cold & go's off within 5 minutes, so I just put it down to maybe moisture in the air due to the cold?
