Not on a D3, but have heard of it being done on various other cars...
With a straight Meth. injection kit, you will get approx 10-15bhp out the box on a standard car. If it is more tuned etc and remapped with the M.I fitted, anything upto 25bhp
TBH, its probably one of the last things you would realistically do if you are going for high power to help keep combustion temps down My D3 Build Thread

Hi Mickey
You said "its probably one of the last things you would realistically do"
I was just asking what would you suggest , If this is one of the last things you would do
what would be one of the first be . Hope that makes sense .

Depends how much power you want...
A bigger intercooler and a generic remap will probably be enough for most people
You could go nuts and go for uprated injectors, hybrid turbo, a proper performance exhaust, ported/polished heads, then W.I/M.I and a custom remap etc
Depends how much money you have to burn... My D3 Build Thread

your could go nuts , I hear you Mikey .
But not in a Disco.
as you say , A bigger intercooler and a generic remap will probably be enough for most people
im not convinced that a bigger intercooler is the way to go , that is to say not the the way to go for me.
hence the Wat/met system

tis all just pi ss and wind
Why not keen on the intercooler? Makes a hell of a difference to any forced induction system I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Barry, you need to speak to Ent, he reckons he has the fastest D3 and I think VeryDisco can confirm that it's pant-spoilingly quick Bodsys Brake Bible

I have no problem with the bigger intercooler and can see how it would work.
belting down the motorway with a 120mph wind in its face, BUT stuck in the mud
engine running Hot and working just as hard as the motorway but with no ram air
on the intercooler , or going nowhere fast pulling your way through a few miles of heavy sand.
are you getting any better cooling over the OEM cooler ? Im sure a bit , but not as much
as you would on the motor way.
I think the water/met system might be better in this case ? i say might be
as I still trying to figure all this out.

Ah, more power when stuck.... You'll be wanting the "boot full of spare driveshafts" option I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

I had a similar system fitted to my D1 200TDI. By itself, there was no real discernible difference, but it did allow you to turn up the fueling and the turbo a bit without overheating, which helped marginally with sand dune ascents. I didn't think it was worth the cost (about $1200 7 years ago). A bigger intercooler (which cost $400) was a lot more beneficial, even at off-road speeds, as the turbo was working just as hard. In fact I ended up using the water/methanol jets to cool the intercooler, via a manual switch on the dash. Flicked it for 20 sec or so just before attempting a large dune!

Was about to suggest water injection onto the intercooler.
Scoobies have this option on some of the Japanese imports and I believe the newer versions are self regulating water injection for when you need the extra boost.
Althoug I think Barry, you'd be suprised at the extra ooomph a bigger intercooler will give you in all conditions.
It's certainly an easy mod and not that expensive in comparison Bodsys Brake Bible
