Has any one wax oiled there D3 yet is there anything to look out for, or that should not be sprayed.

Got mine done when I bought it from Lakeland - thrown in as part of the deal. They normally offer a 'chassis scrape and waxoyl' service. Had a stab at doing it on mt D2 - but it's a filthy job. Lots of people seem to rate Before-n-after - but I was put off by a bit of an over-sell and quite aggressive sales style. Best thing I found for the D2 was to get it steam cleaned at a local truck fitter and then a decent reliable old-skool body shop used to waxoyl it. Waxoyl was £50, steam clean was a £10. Used to get it done every year, and my D2 was immaculate when I sold it at 9 yrs old. I reckon doing it every year is better than a very expensive service that's a one-off - especially as some of it can get scraped off. it's important to make sure the chassis is clean and dry before the waxoyl and it goes into all the gaps.

Thanks very much for the reply, just got my D3 this weekend. Ex-demo SE manual 9500 on the clock. Like John C I waxoiled my D1 and after 9 years its still like new, So thought I would have a go on the D3 but when I had a look underneath there seemed to be a lots of wires and plugs visible. Did't want to spay something that would cause problems later on. Thumbs Up

That's the reason I made sure that a dealer did it this time - and I'll probably get a dealer to top up if needed. At least they know what they're spraying - which I didn't think was as much of an issue under the D1 or D2.

Rolling with laughter Shocked

really!!
from reading some of these forums it would appear that you guys know more about your D3's than most service departments.
