I have just changed my Freelander2 to a Discovery 4 HSE 11 plate and I see that there is a park heater under the bonnet, I was not given a remote and there is nothing on the information screen in the Discovery, how do I know if it working or do I need to take back to Land rover? Many Thanks Bob t

Hi

the park heater side was a £1100 option ...

the FBH acts as a suplimentary heater ...when its below 6 degrees it will come on to aid warming the engine .

You can retro fit the timed climate ( with or without remote ) Thumbs Up

Only if it was advertised with having a remote control or timer option for the FBH. It's standard fit to all diesel D4's (at least in Europe) and is used for engine warm up assistance in cold weather.

As others have said it was not standard fitment on the earlier D4's but a expensive cost option. On later D4's think from MY12 the timed heating was available as standard on the touch screen and remote was a cost option.
It can be activated by certain members on here Wiggs, Flack Geoff Bodsy, BAS etc. To get the remote bit working you need to purchase a couple of bits and again get it activated by one of the above.
I have it on mine as remote and it is very good, tend to put it on 10 minutes before I go out to car, helps to pre warm te car/engine, as temp drops i may well extend this time.
