New Compomotive wheels suitable for RRS/D3

Compomotive have launched these smart new alloys that will fit RRSports with Brembo brakes, should also fit D3's
http://www.comp.co.uk/news/detail.asp?news...RAID+WHEEL

Being able to fit these to an RRSpost with Brembos (wheel size is normally limited to 19" as there isn't clearance of the Brembo calipers) opens up a whole new selection of tyres suitable for offroad use!
Now a disillusioned new Land Rover buyer and have jumped ship to something less expensive and more reliable that hugs trees.... now driving a Mini Countryman PHEV as well as my trusty and brilliant 1996 Epsom Green Defender90 Tdi300

This is an alternative choice at the BB6 in 17, moreover PD1880 8 X 18 are not really expensive. But which tyres can we fit for offrading. BFG Mud are not available in Europe in 18. Any advice?

Tim - your link takes you to 15" scooby wheels, surely these won't fit over a Brembo calipered RRS ?

looks like a nice wheel, doesnt give weight ratings for it though. RRS wheels rated at 900kg, D3 at 940kg.

Crying or Very sad Sorry, I said something wrong. We can purchase 265 65 18 even if they are not advertised on some European BFG websites.

I'm lost here ... the second link from Snowy points to an 18" rim ...
Don't see that helping much as there's only 1 useful tyre for 18's the AT2

... or am I missing something here Neutral Neutral

Hi,

Originally developped for Nemesis Bowler, this new alloy wheel will fit RRSports (SC included) and also fit D3's. There is not a huge choice of tires in 18 but you can have a look to this 2 pages post where you can see a RRS with PD1880 8 X 18 and BFG AT in 265 65 18. http://rangerovers.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21546

Hopefully this complete set will fit on a D3 without rubbing thearch wheel. Smile

If someone has already tested this solution, thanks to provide feedback.

Tazdaz, I'm not entirely sure but I think the idea is that they fit the V8 Disco 3 with out fouling the brake, as I think they have bigger discs, so they can have AT2s like us mere dielsel mortals. Very Happy
