Potential New D4 owner.
Hi all,
Thought I'd better register and show my face.
Had a series 3 when I was younger, and more recently a Disco 2 for the past 10 years.
Unfortunately it's showing its age with chassis rust so its time to change.
Been browsing the site getting tips and info on what to look for and are hopefully getting to the final stages on buying a Disco 4.
Don't want to jinx it so will wait until its a done deal but I'm really excited!
Just got to fix and sell the old disco to pay for some toys for the D4 now.

Hey there guys and dolls, my names Kenny, I just recently signed up.
I'm off on an eight-hour round trip tomorrow to hopefully pick up my first disco. A Discovery 3 HSE in black. 55 Reg, 129,000 miles, new compressor and FSH. Hopefully, it's as described and I'll be driving back in a new vehicle

Just picked up a 2006 LR3 V8 SE (yes, stupid american) and this seems to be the most active forum. I had a 2003 Discovery 2 previously and loved it. Having a few issues with my LR3 since purchasing it.
After a hard reset, the radio no longer works. I think the computers are half-stuck in transport mode. I dont have a Nanocom or IIDTool just yet, but I will be getting one in the near future. For now i'm having a local shop have a look with their tool, as well as updating all the other computers to the latest firmware/software.
85k miles
* High Line (not Logic7) stereo
* HD Package
* Non-navigation
* Bi-Xenons (I think, at least low beam xenons)
* Five seat model, with 60/40 second row seats
* 18" with brand new Yokohama YK-HTX 265/60/18's
* Loving every second of it so far.

Hi all just want to say thanks for a great forum from the Land Rover family. Just got my first 2013 Land Rover Discovery 4 SDV6 after my son bought a 2003 Discovery 2 Td5 and I was so blown over that I just had to have one.

Sold my V8 disco 3 in January and bought a little hot hatch. The novelty has since worn so looking to get back to a disco as have missed the comfort, size and all round prcticality of it
Will probably break the habit of a lifetime and go diesel this time.

Hi all. Based in Ticehurst East Sussex, Recently bought a late 2006 disco 3 hse. After doing a lot of research and viewing a lot of ropey examples I finally found mine ticking all the boxes of things that should have been done and it’s been meticulously looked after. Very happy coming from an e53 x5 to the discovery.
It came with a detachable swan neck type towbar and I have just purchased the fixed style height adjusting tow bar but I could really do with some help as to where on the cross member the side bars fit? The towbar came with the bolts to fix to the cross member but it looks like there are already similar bolts in place, Iv heard the side bars fix on the inner face but to me it looks like there’s a small thin bracket in place on this side with the existing bolts fixing it. I do have photos.
Thanks
Jon

Hi: I am a newcomer to the forum hoping to gain information from the experts, or those that have suffered, yet prevailed. Long time Land Rover owner. Disco 1, (still owned/used), Disco 2 (2003), and now an LR3. I sometimes regret upgrading, wishing I had stuck with my 4.6L Landy, having said that I hope you guys won't hold that against me.

Collected it...
Picked up my ‘59 D4 TdV6 on Friday, followed by a wonderful 180 mile drive to get it home. The 5 hours on the trains was worth it. Already playing, and planning upgrades. Can’t wait.

Almost there
Hello everypeeps
Looking at getting a D3 as a “standby/long distance cruiser” for our jaunts up country visiting family, presently about to look at an ‘07 D3 with 160K+ but looks in great condition with good provenance.
After reading so many horror stories I am hoping it is the normal case of “only the moaners post” and the contents just sit at home gloating in silence!
