Hi All. Finally joined the world of Discovery ownership after a while away from the brand. (Had a RRS a couple of years ago.) Pick up a 2005 HSE in black on Monday. It’s had a few mods already and I don’t plan to do much to it except keep it on the road. After a RRS I’m well aware of the potential for big bills. Every service on that ended up near enough a grand
Look forward to contributing though probably more questions than anything.

Hi a quick introduction,my name is Charlie,I'm not a member of any four wheeled clubs, but have been a member of Motorcycle Clubs over many years.I found this site whilst getting on a page for a Snooper Dual Channel Dash Cam.I see it is advertised at £166.I would like to purchase it please, unless it is for genuine owners of the four wheeled variety!.However Thanks for the opportunity to enter your Forum. : :bow :

Hello, I'm Laura and I'm new to the forum. Recently bought my 1st Land Rover, a 58 plate Discovery 3 diesel auto. Loving the hell out of it but having seen online the reliability issues with these things I thought it best to join the forum early!
I'm going to try and be a bit more 'hands on' with this one than previous cars so I've got the trusty Haynes manual but I expect I'll need a lot more advice than that. Looking forward to getting to know my vehicle and members of this forum when the inevitable issues do arise. Currently we have the parking brake thing but there appears to be more Discovery 3s with parking brake faults then without, getting it sorted anyway

Hi, I'm Mike and have been a lurking here for quite a while! I bought a 2007 D3 in 2012 and have found this site a great help with a few of the problems that occured with it... Sadly, owing to a change in circumstances that had to go (to someone on here maybe?), but I couldn't keep away for long and have just snapped up a mate's 2005 D3 to add to my collection (a 1974 RRC 6x4 - a total project!, a 1991 RRC, and a 1999 D2 V8 - I recognise a few names from the D2BC).

Hi Team.
We have just purchased a High km (300,000km) 06 Disco 3 TDV6 HSE here in New Zealand.
It has actually fear very well condition wise, two lady owners and mostly highway driven.
Im about to tackle a few preventive maintenance jobs and can't see why we can't get another 300,000km out of her.
I was suggested the Disco3 site from another Disco owner while looking to buy one, and doing a lot of research through google, which the Disco3 Forums always popped up. I have found them very handy.
I was hoping to find a few more like minded NZ Disco3 owners on here, so we will see..
Look Forward to browsing the site, and find all the hidden features of our new to us Disco3.
Thanks
Jason and Sara.

Hi
just joined this site off the back of the Freel2 site, ive owned a variety of FL1 and FL2 and had a D2 Auto which I loved
I joined here to ask a question for a mate looking for a D4 and have ended questioning my own sanity and contemplate moving into a D4.
I haven't made a decision yet as the tax and running costs make me very nervous coupled with the possible huge repair bills. I cant afford to go for one still under LR warranty sadly so it would have to be an early D4 probably GS spec.
is there anything I should be looking out for besides decent FSH and the usual obvious things?
maybe I will and maybe I wont
cheers
Rog

Good Evening,
Just registered on this site to get a feel for the likely woes and horror stories that might afflict the D4 before taking the plunge! Currently got a late model facelift D2 that has been pretty damn good over the last 4 years and I love it but now fancy something a bit newer and more road-oriented so I've decided it's going to be a D4 later this year. I currently frequent the D2BC website and it's been very useful at times, hoping this will be the same for the D4.
Heard all sorts of bad things as to why you should never get a D4 (or D3) but, like with the D2, usually from those who've never had one and are just regurgitating poo they've heard others talk. The proof is in the pudding as the saying goes. Only one way to find out...
Regards,
Richard.
