Hi from new member.
Reading up for some time we have just taken the jump for a "low mileage" MY2008 disco 3 manual coiler.
Will replace our 2008 Defender 110 for our european overlanding trips.
Dont mention we're going to regret it.
It is a hard decision emotionally as the defender has been a very (although intensively modified) reliable partner for 8 years and in faultless condition but with family expansion in mind and the opportunity for this D3 (Italy-rust free and in very very mind condition) reason ruled.
Or at least that is how we explain it ourselves. We rapidly need to take the D3 on a trip to gain confidence.
I'm sure i'll do a write-up of some sorts once the D3 mods and tweaks start and hope i one day can contribute to this reference site for D3.
Looking forward

New to the disco3.co.uk site.
Hi, l am new to your site and have joined due to the fact l am looking for a Discovery 3. I have heard that this site is very helpful. I have had loads of cars through out my time and before l reach 50 years of age l want to be part of the Land Rover family. I love the look of the 4 but can probably only afford a 3, l know they have their problems and with your help if that’s ok hopefully l can buy a good one and keep it up to date with services. Any advice on where to look for what l need to buy one would be great, many thanks.

Just purchased my first decent car and decided to go with the D3 so I'm here to show it off as I'm a tad proud of myself lol.
Pics aren't the best but I didn't take many. Will take more and update.

Number plate seems to show its a 2007?
If thats the case serach oil pump failure and look into it asap and see if its been done, probabaly the most important job on a D3 and the one failure that can and will financially write off the car.
Also worth checking the mot history to see if theres any advisories etc

No advisories. Straight through. I know it had a service last week at the cost of about 800 pound. I will check it to see if it was done. Thankyou

Just joined
Hello
Just about to purchase my first D3 after being a 90 / 110 / Defender owner for around 25 years. Found the vehicle and agreed the price.
Looking forward to talking and driving at the same time

Disco 3 from the Gulf
Greetings, bought my first Land Rover. Happened to be Disco 3 HSE 4.4 V8. I moved to Qatar last year and naturally needed 4x4 for some dunning trips People here ride their land cruisers and patrols. Thought i will stand out in disco and still keep up with them.

Hi all,
Since I'm now the proud owner of 2005 D3 HSE, I thought I should say hello.
The site was really helpful in selecting a vehicle and knowing what to look for when viewing and test driving. Time will tell what I missed!
It's great to be a Landrover owner again, although I'm hoping the experience will be more comfortable and less expensive than when I had a 110 15 years ago (replaced gearbox, engine, welding......).

New (ish) to website, time to say hello.
Hi all, upgraded from D2 to D3 in December 2017 and have been following this website ever since.
Finically decided to say hello and get involved after months of using all the good advice on here.
I got myself a HSE spec with 113k in bonatti grey and black leather interior.
Had a few issues with leaking sunroof drains etc but were resolved under warranty.
Finally started to get chance to begin upgrading it, the most significant things so far being headlight de-tango and some rock / tree sliders.
While I'm here, are there any users in the Staffordshire/ Derbyshire region that Could help me out with an IID tool (with payment of course) ?
