Saying hello
Hi everyone,
Just registered and thought i'd say hello. Having giving my lease car back today i've spend the last 6 months looks at buying a D3 as i would like to tow a car trailer and have a bit more room when on driving holidays for bikes and gear, etc.
I've owned a 88" series 3 in the past and have driven my mates D2s and Defenders, so not new to LR as such but not had a new-ish LR at all.

New to Disco!
Hi all!! Good afternoon. I’m glad to be a part of this community and look forward to getting to know ropes.
I Just entered the realm with my purchase of a 2005 landrover discovery 3. 200,000 miles!! But I paid just over 2500 for it. It has a few dings and marks but I’m not after a show pony.
Drove it from Yeovil to helston in Cornwall this afternoon without a blip! Lovely drive. It whines a bit in first and second.. maybe a worn front diff?
Anyway I Dove into a field on the way home, as I couldn’t restrain my excitement any longer! Problem already!! 🙈
I thought the front diff sounded a bit Whitney when I bought it, but assumed it might need an oil change etc. My first fiddle with the terrain control switches led to concerns however!
I can’t seem to select lo! The switch mechanically toggles, but no lights change on the switch or the dash. Pulled up the centre console to check plugs and everything seems ok?
Really sorry if I haven’t posted this in the right place, but I couldn’t find how to post into the correct ‘faults’ section of the forums?
Anyway, I really appreciate your time reading this and would be extremely grateful for any direction you can offer me.
Thanks once again
All the best

Welcome along ! Try not to get too jaded. I’m running mine (when it works) on the tightest spend I can. If you read my thread you’d laugh ! What I mean by that is I don’t use dealers or indies and I’ve had a lot of horror stories with my car and managed. The problem with a forum is most guys are looking to fix things that are broken or not right so there’s a disproportionate amount of negative threads. Just enjoy the car buddy. Jarrod

First post, bought a 2011 discovery 4 landmark. Great car, already having a few issues as expected, but already found forum very useful .

Hi everyone,
I have had the pleasure of owning a 2009 D3 HSE for a little over a year now. It really has been special getting back behind the wheel of and LR after practically growing up in them!
This forum has been invaluable so far for help and peace of mind when the car decides to do its own thing . Anyway I am sure I will be on here lots over the coming months as things need 'tweaking'

Hello All,
Longtime Landcruiser owner and now first time LR3 owner and enjoying it thus far! 2008 HSE, 7 seater, 4.0 V6 in Bonatti Grey i believe.
Did a lot of homework on the forum before purchasing and it has been invaluable as a resource tool so the first thing on the list is the IID tool i would think.
Looking forward to chatting to you all in the future

Greetings from Finland!
After reading all the up's n down's i was mentally ready to buy my own Discovery 3, HSE 2006 with a zermatt silver. Air compressor was already noisy so i had a discount from the price and it will be the first DIY job on the list. Then comes fluids, filters etc.. weey. list goes on! But...
Its so fun to drive, handling on the slippery winter roads is perfect, seats 7 comfortably and it isn't that bad in fuel economy either.
Hopelly will have a great journey with it!
