And New Owner!
Hi all I've been a proud (so far) owner of a 2007 D3 HSE for 2 weeks now and love it so far!
I only wanted two things for Christmas and I got both, one being the D3!
Got a few issues to solve sunroof drain being one and EGR valve issue.
Other than that it's silly things - Broken air flow outlet in back and a Sat Nav that is iffy! (guessing I might have to change that)
Then it's just add ons, Side step and TOw bar (which MIGHT, hopefully) have everything but hook fitted!
Looking forward to many hours of fun and advice.
Cheers Paul
P.s. Happy New Year to all!

Hi everyone,
I'm a Disco 3 owner now and have loved it, problem is I sent it to a local garage to be serviced (I sourced all genuine parts) had brake upgrade all round, paid bill and drove away. Car drove and felt fine, I stopped at the pub for a pint and when I left and started the car is was running real rough and wouldn't rev. I called the garage who had serviced it and met the guy in the pub car park the next day. He plugged it in bit no codes, I had it recovered back to their garage where they blanked off EGR valves & had injectors on one side tested (all ok) No luck
They sent it to another guy who had a 'specialist' to look at it and he thinks the chain to one side of cam has failed or a chain at the back of the engine somewhere I'dont really know what he ment??
The car was never driven or revved whilst it was running rough so potentially no valve damage. I'm a bit confused, fed up and don't know what to do now as there telling me its £1000's to fix.
I'm in Guildford, Surrey is there anyone near me that you guys can recommend I take the vehicle to to get to the bottom of it before I scarp it!!!!!
Would really appreciate any help.
thanks
Martin

Hi Guy’s
I just bought a 2005 Disco 3 with a seized engine.
I aim at rebuilding it.
I hope to find helpful hints in the forum.

Hi
I'm an X Brit living in France having moved here 3 years ago. I have a 2005 Land Rover Discovery HSE which has only covered 130,000 Klms.
I have found it very difficult to find mechanics who can work on the car, the French are very loyal to their manufacturers.
I presently have an issue with an intermittent shudder when changing gear (Automatic) does not happen often, I had the gearbox oil changed about 14 months ago whilst the car was being serviced. Back to the garage and they are saying new gearbox.
I'm no mechanic but some British guy told me this could be a pressure issue in gearbox causing the front clutch to slip? this apparently is a common issue with the 2.7 HSE. Any help or advice would be most welcome
Thank you

Hi all, and Happy New Year! |
|
Great start to our new year, as we pick up our Disco4 Hse 13 plate next weekend!
New to discos, but lived with Freelanders, and used to live in a 110 in the army.
Loking forward to learning just how capable this car is, and not scared to get her dirty.
Wishing you all a safe, prosperous and Happy New Year!!
Andy & Christine

Hi, just thought I would say hello. I have a Disco 3 hse auto. Had it about 13/14 trouble free years. Just coming up to 88k and about to depart on a road trip to Marbella. Tried to update the satnav dvd, what a palaver. The manual doesnt sa anything about the metal brackets preventing you getting access to the disc, also it says access is from the back ie. run the seat forward, thats wrong, access is from the front footwell ie. run the seat back. Any advice out there. Regards Robert Pullen

Hi all. New to the forum, which i have been scanning for very useful info. Thank you for allowing me to join.
I have a 2008 Discovery 3 HSE Auto, which I believe like few other 3s, has a factory fitted, and fortunately working DPF. The warranty document (WASP) from LR shows it as being Euro 4 compliant + DPF fitted. Has anyone any idea whether that should affect the road tax bracket it should be in? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi all,
After months of research and deliberation I’ve finally got one !!!
Today became the proud (anxious) owner of 2006 (55) D3 SE in silver
135000 miles good history and fresh MOT no advisory (hasn’t been for a few years)
Surprisingly it was the wife’s idea to go for it as it’s her dream car as well as mine
Drove it home 110 miles no problems and avg 32mpg
I have driven Disco 3/4’s for the last 14 years as a work vehicle (the ones in fetching black and yellow squares).
I’m ok with spanner’s so will do as much as I can.
Now I’m home thinking of the first things to do:
Activate 4x4 info
EGR blank
KN air filter
Just want to say thanks for all the great info on here that helped me with my buying decisions
Looking for to speaking to some of you

Hi all,
First post in this part of the forum.
Yesterday became the owner of 2006 SE 135, 000m, cars in what I think is good order with a good history (only time will tell if I’m right).
Looking at blanking EGR and fitting hi flow air filter as the first and hopefully simple jobs.
Then maybe a gearbox flush, car drove fine no hunting
I live down in Folkestone, Kent. Can any one recommend a good specialist ?
Is there anyone near me who can do CCF ? Would like the 4x4 info activated (and anything else this can do).
The only issues are a duff window switch, and when turning the car off the engine stops really quick (that may be normal) but always starts again no problem.
Drove home with it for 110 mile no problem avg mpg on dash was 32
Sat in traffic for an hour and the temp gauge actually went down, it was only 3 degrees outside so that may help
Absolutely love Discos been driving them at work for the last 13 years and we’ve had both 3’s and 4’s although the current batch of 4’s will be replaced by 5’s in a couple of months.
They have always served us well in all weather. They don’t complain when we tow a 44 ton HGV or drag a heavily damaged car with no wheels off the carriageway.
It is the advise on here that gave me the confidence to get one, so thanks to all
Look forward to chats and advice along the way
If my post are too long just tell me and I’ll shorten them
Thanks
