G'day All,
Learned to drive in a 70's 2 door V8 Range Rover, had the first Diesel D1 in WA and now the long suffering owner of (with apologies to the Gods must be Crazy) "The Antichrist". It hasn't winched itself up a tree yet, but only because it doesn't have a winch.
This is a late 07 MY08 XS Spec D3 that was imported from the UK to Australia somewhere around late 2011, snapped a crank in protest and has since had a somewhat chequered history.
I've owned it now for just over 2 years (or my wife did before she told me I could sell it to some other poor sucker, drive it myself or burn it to the ground).
The previous owners did the LCAs, Handbrake module, suspension compressor, LH EGR, Turbo and had the DPF refurbed in addition to a second hand long-block to replace the original with the trashed crank.
Since I've had it it's done a door lock motor, RH EGR, Coolant bottle, Aux fuel cooler, RH EGR inlet hose, Oil pump, front crank seal (separate to and after the oil pump), DPF (twice), DVD player, Nav computer and HPFP.
Since I "sorted" the EGR and DPF faults with the help of a BAS download I don't anticipate those coming up again.
It needs the FBH looking at, but as we're only just entering into winter here and we'd be lucky to get 5 days where it'd be cold enough for it to even fire up it's a long way down the list.
So, G'day from WA.

Hi everyone
Recently bought a disco 3 as price was to good not to try one out. Always admired the look of the disco 3/4. So far really happy with the decision.
It's definitely a lot smoother drive than the two defenders we own

Introducing myself and my Land Rover
First post on this forum, so i'll introduce myself and our D4.
My name is Steven, 31 years old and love cars for as long as I can remember.
I have a technical education but not car related, and live in Belgium.
I have owned several brands of cars, wich I all maintained myself.
Almost 2 years ago I was looking for a do-it-all car: one for trips, holidays, carrying stuff, ... this lead me to a 1997 Range Rover 4.6 HSE with low km's.
I repaired some things, changed some things and took the car on some awesome trips.
My daily driver was an 2007 Alfa Romeo GT Q2 wich I now have for more than 6 years because it's that good. I really like it and it's a very practical car, but since I have the Range I can really enjoy the more relaxed 'king of the road' feeling this car gives me. That, together with bad roads, a lot of traffic, and the need of a full 5 seater (I converted the Range to a 2 seater to avoid insanely high taxes) I have been looking for a Discovery for some time.
But a couple of weeks ago it finally happend, my girlfriend and I bought our self a fantastic Disco!
It's an 2011 3.0TDV6 HSE in Bournville black-red-ish with 'straight grain walnut' interior. Not a lot of options but we have 7 seats, rear parking camera and Harman Kardon audio. It had only one previous owner and was well being cared of. Full LaRo service history, no major works done and NO towing hook (wish I think is a big advantage for wear).
Since we have it I got the airco filled, cleaned the whole car and gave it a good wax.
The other things I want to do are:
-fit a towing hook and elektronics
-give the car a full full service (had a big service 10 000km ago but want to up the intervals)
-give the whole bottom a layer of rust protection
-add a control to the webasto (TC4?)
-fix the rattling in the exhaust (It has the center silencer internal rattle)
-some small fixes to make it as new
Everybody likes pics, so here one of the Disco and of the Range at the start of the Budapest Rally.

Hi,
I've a D4 SDV6, DII TD5 and a SIIa 2.25 diesel. Given the rocket science aspects of the D4 I thought I should find a group of interested owners to talk to!

Hello
Hi all. Been reading the forum for a short while. Looking to buy a D4 towards the end of the year so doing my research now.
Good day all...
Am from central Alberta (Western Canada) and just purchased a 2007 LR3 with the 4.0 litre V6 which has apparently self destructed via a thrown/broken timing chain. Am picking it up next weekend (trailer), bringing it home, and will be removing the engine for either rebuilding or replacement. Am hoping that if it is replacement then a fairly new Ford Explorer 4x4 4.0L SOHC engine will nearly bolt right in, saving me a lot of gnashing of teeth and temper tantrums. The LR3 has approximately 260,000 Km on it and seems to be in otherwise pretty good condition, also checking into purchasing a IIDToolBT which I'm told is a necessity for the indoctrination to the Land Rover community initiation ceremony. As the machine didn't have a working battery I was unable to verify if there were any other issues, will just have to deal with things as they happen, hoping to get a lot of help from the Land Rover owner community. In expectation of replacing the timing chains and gears have already ordered the Cloyes 90398SB timing chain kit plus the CAMSHAFT Timing Tools KIT for Ford Land Rover 4.0 L SOHC V6 Service Set. I am expecting that more parts and learning experiences are in store...
Edited to add photo, it is here! Will start in on it sometime this week...
