Thanx in advance for assisting me to join this group.
Im a bit of a Landy nut from South Africa. I stay in what we call the bushveld pretty far from any source of spares or knowledge and rely heavily on sites like these to keep my Landys going.
I currently have a Land Rover Forward Control 2B, Defender 130 TD5, Discovery 1 300tdi, Discovery 2 TD5, and recently added a Discovery 3 TDV6.

Hello!
Just introducing myself. New to LRs in general, just bought my first, A Disco 3 SE 2007. Feel I was sold a bit of a dud but nonetheless, I want this car for years to come so slowly working my way through it's issues.
Completed
- New Prop Shaft
To Do (what I know so far anyway)
- Buy and install a new radio, the one in it is dead.
- Mega Flush - ATF
- New Tyres all round.
- Air suspension fault, likely replace with coils.
I'm not a mechanic and in fact, pretty simple when it comes to cars. So, will be reading all I can on this forum to help me through my disco ownership.
Cheers!
Dan

Hi all
Just popped across from the ffrr site, don't tell them
Seriously considering coming back to a Disco, having owned a D2 and D3 before my ffrr.
Looking at low miles D4, HSE, can't make my mind up at moment, the ffrr 322 has been a fantastic, and very reliable motor in the 5 yrs I've owned it.
Cheers

Thought I'd say hi
Thought I'd say hi, I recently bought my D3 after owning an overlander prepped D1. The D1 was more weld than steel so i bit the bullet and stripped her, and then bought my D3.
It came with a gearbox issue where you'd put it into drive and it would pop into neutral, so had a look and the linkage was seized and the cable was broken. Swapped that over and she is sweet as a nut.
Swapped the wheels for a set of 18's I bought with General Grabber AT's, so the 5x19's will be up for sale.
Future plans are a hidden winch, have a Goodwinch TDS 9.5i left over from my old D1, and tint the windows, and probably a remap. The gearbox and engine are coming up for a service, so will probably do a mega flush.
Oh and i also own a 1972 3.9 V8 Series 3 SWB that is my forever project

Hello noob here
Hi everyone. I've just joined after buying a disco 3 tdv6 SE. I completely love it. The car was wrapped from new so paintwork is pretty mint in silver. The chassis has 168k on it but the engine only has a relatively low 71k on it. The original engine seized due to oil pump failure. An engine was sourced from a 1 owner full history Jag, the relevant changes were made and in she went. All belts were changed and the latest revision oil pump too.
I've just done a full disc and pad change and now I can hear an intermittent crunch from the osf when turning right. I guess I'm going to learn quickly about fixing these things.
Please be gentle on me as I'm going to ask some stupid questions.

Cheers bud, yeah the D1 had a hybrid turbo running 19psi at the head, and with the 35's went anywhere, just a shame that the rust let it down.
Really pleased with the D3, one owner from new 185k, and FSH. Apart from the gearbox linkage (which prev owner thought was gearbox itself) is a great vehicle, just a tad heavy on juice currently does 23mpg ish combined, higher on motorway but I think a remap should help things along.

My 1995 Impreza turbo that I built from a wreck, all fully forged and my toy.
And my ex military Sankey trailer, that used to look AWESOME behind my D1, now looks great behind my D3, just gotta sort the hitch out now.

Hello everyone,
Currently have no Disco but looking for a low milage D4 MY16 SDV6 HSE to own for a long time to mainly pull heavy loads. I've been looking for a while but the MY16 are quite rare where I'm from, especially if you want something in decent condition.
Hope to find one soon and looking forward to tips and advice how to keep it going for a very long time.
Thanks in advance

I'm Pontarddulais (Llanelli M4 turn off turn right), yeah I am talking to Uncle Ray about a winch mount
You wouldn't know a decent mapper in this neck of the woods??
Having a plate made that fits on the tow hitch, that extends up and uses the recovery eye for my slider plate to fit to, made from 10mm plate. As that way if plod has a look, the tow bar is Type approved, as is the Nato hitch, and I can try and get away with saying the slider is a Dixon Bate one which again is Type approved, they may miss the plate behind it sandwiched in between.

Cheers Bud, its VERY handy its halfers with my mate, with a 4 tonne 2 poster, means I can store my Landy work on my cars, and somewhere secure for my tools.

Hello.
Hello All,
It told me to write something here to say hello, so that's what I'm doing.
I actually am not sure why I'm here to be honest, but I guess the overwhelming reason is a Disco 3 is calling my name and it's not shutting up, so if I decide to answer back I best be sure of what I'm getting myself in to I suppose...
That's it for now I guess. I'll keep reading and trying to learn how deep this rabbit hole is and whether I actually want to jump down it.
Stu.

Hi all, have just acquired my first Disco 3, I did own a freelander 1 briefly last year but the wife didnβt like it so it went!! π’. This one is 2006 2.7auto in metallic red and i abso love it!! Other car is 2013 X1 which is great for covering great distances quickly but the disco does it in much more style π I own and run and Indy garage so should know better !! Lol but this one is staying, 120,000 miles and just about changed all the fluids now, replaced the rear prop last week due to collapsed bearing and have just relatched the 2 yr old epb module which I imagine due to lack of maintenance had gone out of adjustment and locked up, have replaced them before but thanks to disco mike for the easy to follow refresher, drivers door lock and auto box oil change is next πΊπΊπCurrent fleet
BMW X1
Kangoo van
Pug 108
MGF
