Hi.I am a proud owner of a Disco 3..born in 2007. It's my 3rd Disco the other 2 being Disco 2's.This one has been around the world a bit but is still looking ok
I am looking to replace the E.G.R valves in the very near future as it ,on occasion, is difficult to start & runs a bit rough until it's warm.

Hard to start on occasions & feels like it's missing, especially in the cold. Puff of smoke (white) but all ok when it's warmed up. No loss of water or oil. Any ideas?

Greetings from the small village of Keevil on the edge of Salisbury Plain.
I've just bought a very nice D3 with 100k miles, one owner and a full service history. I've owned an ex army Series 3 109 for 15 years and it has just turned 40 and needs to be treated with more respect. The D3 will take on the muddy dog walks, load lugging, winter donkey work and general running around.
One thing though, looking at the service history I can't see any evidence that it ever had belts done after 7 years. Now that it is approaching 105k and 14 years it really is going to need prioritising. Can anybody tell me what to expect damage-wise for getting it done with a specialist?

Hi All,
Newbie here. Well sort of, have owned a Series 3 before with a view to doing a V8 conversion......never got round to it typically! Anyhow, owned a Disco 2, 4Litre V8 briefly (loved it!) .... sadly had to get rid so now I'm happy to say that I own a 2004 Disco 3, 2.7 Diesel HSE.

Hi to all the newcomers (and not so new owners
EvelKeevil - cost of replacing belts is around £700 I think - someone with better knowledge will correct me - but if you are replacing the belts please make sure you have the new oil pump and if not get that changed - https://www.disco4.com/forum/update-advice...79747.html
Muddymac - might be better to start a new thread for your query as this thread is mainly just for saying "hi" There are lots of posts about blanking the EGR valves - just type that into the search function. Uncle Ray's spare wheel protector
Limo Tint
Blackvue front & rear dashcam
Cruise control switch pack
Bodsy's remote for FBH

Hi
Just wanted to intro myself and say hello!
I have just rejoined the Disco fraternity/family with the purchase today of a 2008 D3 HSE. I have previously had a V8 D1 and the TD5 D2. Should pick the car up in a week, very excited and already planning purchases and projects!
Starting with the retro fridge install! 8)
Had a look through the posts so will be reading them more!
Looks a great site, looking forward to contributing!
My other project is an e46 M3 convertible!
Have a great week
Iain

Hello all,
First post here, new to me D3 recently purchased at auction as a fixer upper!
Owned a 300tdi and a V8 on gas back in the 2000s and a TD5 not that long ago.
I knew this one would have some issues which include but are not limited to torque converter/gearbox! I’ve weighed up the options over the last few weeks and have decided to try and rescue her from landy heaven!!!
First job is the belts and the bits are all in hand! Despite being a D3 noob i’m pretty ok with the spanners and have a decent tool box but mainly ain’t afraid to get stuck in!
Any decent links or advice at this early stage to get me ahead of the game is much appreciated.
I’ve got haynes, anywhere I can get the official stuff? Had rave for the D2. Do I need a code reader? What kind is best?
Lot’s of reading to do, looking forward to getting stuck in!
Cheers
Ritchie

Welcome to all the newcomers
Disko - there is alots and lots of information on the forum, use the Search function at the top of the page and also the WIKI section (below the banners at the top of the page) as a starting point
You may want to invest in an IID tool - it is "the" diagnostic tool of choice for almost everyone on the forum. Duckworth Parts sell them - a forum sponsor: https://www.disco4.com/forum/sale-gap-iid-...9-195.html
Let us know how you progress with what sounds like a lot of work you've got to do.
In another post you mention sending a PM - I think you have to have a minimum of 5 (?) posts before you can send a PM to another member. Uncle Ray's spare wheel protector
Limo Tint
Blackvue front & rear dashcam
Cruise control switch pack
Bodsy's remote for FBH

New Discovery 3 Owner in Ireland. |
|
Hi,
I recently purchased my '05 Discovery 3 TDV6 S after being sowed the seeds of Disco 3 ownership by a friend of mine. A great vehicle if a bit thirsty. There is a great Land Rover Discovery community out there so hopefully this group will help me enjoy my Disco even more!
