Hi from the Black Forest area! |
|
Hi all,
Just wanna say Hello to all forum members.
My Name is Harald and I‘m living in southwest area in Germany. Currently I‘m driving a Disco 3 which I bought some weeks ago.
This is my second Land Rover now, first one was a RR Vogue TDV8 which sometimes has driven me crazy. But I like the style and design of these cars.
Looking forward to find some usefull tipps and tricks for DIY repairs, as I always try to fix things on my own, before putting it to and Garage.

Welcome to DISCO3.CO.UK, the leading community web site for everything to do with the new Discovery 3 and LR3 vehicles from Land Rover - and now we're also called DISCO4.COM, especially for all you new Discovery 4 and LR4 owners!
Click the "post reply" button at the top or bottom left of this thread page to tell us a little about yourself and your D3 or D4 - and how you found the site.
Don't forget to order some DISCO3 or DISCO4 goodies - how about a sticker to show that you're a proud member of the site? Take a look at the selection available at www.disco3.co.uk/shop/
Enjoy!

Good Morning All,
I have recently purchased an 2004 (54 plate) disco 3 SE and apart from the fuel costs love it. So far I am just currently doing some of the basics to bring it upto scratch as it was far from perfect. So started with under the vehicle Lanoguard, and buying a gap iid tool which has obviously thrown up a few faults but nothing major. Look forward to utilising the collective genius of this forum!!

Hi just moved form a Mk1 Shogun to a 2007 HSE and am already feeling the panic that comes with D3 ownership.
But over all, all is good and have already been lurking on the forum to understand the common faults etc.

Hi, temp sender bypass for cold no start? |
|
5 days and 300 miles into ownership - D3 2005 127,000 miles.
Lovin' it but just won't start this morning. Sub-zero.
@Flapper - is it really this simple?
You need a 5000 ohm resistor a small switch a bit of wire so you don't even have to lift the bonnet/hood.
Just wire the resistor in parallel with the temp sender (temp gauge on the dash).
All for less than a tenner.
Thanks
Pete

Following the thread about heating up the coolant sensor, I gave the hair dryer a go and 30 seconds later started right up.
Hair rather dashing as well.

Any link to pics for the solution above?

Bonjour à tous....je suis Français et je cherche un site sérieux pour discuter de mon Disco 3 et Range rover Sport.
Mon Anglais n'est pas très bon et veuillez m'en excuser.
Au plaisir de vous lire!

Hi all,
Just bought myself a 2006 Disco 3 TDV6, and, as you'd expect, it has the usual list of issues which I plan to work through.
The one that I am currently researching is the bottom trim on the drivers door coming loose. I'm sure that I've seen somewhere on this site a gentleman saying that originally all the two-part clips were yellow and white, but that later some of them were changed to black. Presumably a different strength clip?
Can anyone point me in the right direction please, I need to find the attachment said gentleman had attached giving sourcing details for the two kinds of clips.
Regards to all.

Hi all
Thanks for the acceptance on here. I used to have the 2.7 DISCO 3. I sold it about 6 years ago,and now have just bought a discovery 4 HSE 3.0 V6. Different animal that is, can't get enough enough of it to be honest. I just thought I would say hi all since I was here👋.
Hopefully I don't have many questions but it's always good to have others more experienced with more knowledge close by
Thanks again and all the best John
