Hello all
Nice website Martin !
Two weeks ago I left the dealer in my brand new Disco3 TDV6 HSE Auto.
I'm a happy guy, and to me, this is the best car in the world.
I planned to buy a Tonga Green/Alpaca Leather version, but was told to wait until august, so I decided to fall in love with the Bonatti Grey/Ebony Leather version instead, which was available within three weeks.
With Premium Nav and adaptive headlights too.

Hallo everybody!  :
Two weeks ago I took my Java-black S model over, finally. What a delight. Driving through my little town, I feel myself like a sailor who sails the sea. How elegant, how robust, awe-inspiring. People are looking, surprised, what kind of 4x4 car is it really? There are many Freelanders in town, but first Disco. My dealer (BMW dealer in fact) was delighted too and decided to order another model (HSE) for test - model.
My first 500 km and I did not experience any bad with my black boy.

Welcome !
I think your the first member we've had from your part of Europe. Be great to see and hear what driving a 4x4 in your part of the world is like...
Are you free to rove off road... are you as restricted as we are ?
Are fuel prices crazy like the UK ?
Do you have anti 4 x 4 lobbies like the Uk and US ?
Do you feel like a king in your new DISCO3 ?.. I know I do !

Hi everybody !
congratulations to you all for the best disco3 forum so far. You really helped me making up mind to switch from my dear old D2 tdi  ('97 and 230 000 km without much trouble) to the D3. The "suspension faults" worried me, the "pre heater saga" really cracked me up !!
The test drive was pretty impressive, so silent compared with the tdi, so smooth and at the same I felt at home.
The bonatti grey SE should cross the channel and get delivered beginning of June (dealer dixit). I just can't wait !! btw, does anybody know if the "bonatti" grey color has anything to do with the famous Italian alpinist ?
I'll keep you informed with 1st impressions, glitches (if any ... !!)
PS : small pix to come, once I got the car and found a nice mud hole to dip it in !!

Thank you Simon on welcome. I have informations that another four Disco's are sold in Zagreb, capital of Croatia.
Yes, I have many opportunities to drive off-road, but I am not so much interested. Fuel (eurodiesel) price is around 0,90 €/liter and it is subject of chage two times on month.
There are not anti 4x4 lobbies by now. And how I feel driving my Disco? I feel like a captain of the ship, rolling on the waves, looking little cars passing by, drivers with wide opened eyes.

0.90€ per litre.... we are at £0.95 ! so your at £0.61 per litre with current rates of exchange
Take it off road... you'll feel even more like a captain ! in fact you'll feel like an Admiral of the Navy !

| Just bought my first Disco 3 |

Hi all,
Just thought I'd say hi.
I've just ordered my brand new Zambezi / Ebony Discovery TDV6 HSE with ALL the factory options and Stainless Side Protection tubes, Locking Roof Bars and body side mouldings.
By the way, I got a great deal (in UK) from a Landrover dealer by using Ashley at www.broombroom.com to get me the best deal. Saved just over £2k on the new vehicle and i'm looking at a mid July Delivery to my door.
I can hardly wait. Both myself and my wife (oh and two kids) were blown away by the way the LR3 goes. It's so refined, the diesel is so quite.....
I'm delighted....

Hi all,
Had my TDV6 S since Dec 04. Very happy with it, especialy now the 'software' problem is sorted.
Off-road it appears to be awesome, let down alittle by the standard tyres!
I think the recent surge in registered users is due to the name check the forum got in this months LRO mag. Thats where I saw it.

Hi,
Picking mine up on Monday so just drooling over the gallery pics this evenning. I've got a few miles of easy green lanes planned for the journey back from the dealers. It'll be nice to travel at a speed at which you can take in the scenery rather than throwing myself at it painfully on the dirt bike.
I do thousands of miles of green lanes all over the country and have yet to see a Disco3 out there. I see some of you are getting yours dirty so I'm bound to pass one of you soon. What do you guys reckon to the Strata Florida? Would it be a bit harsh taking a new vehicle down it? My favourite lane on the bike especially during the winter months when it's a little trickier. A riding partner dropped his in the deep crossing at the end one year. All you could see of him and the bike was a headlight shining up out of the gloom. Amazingly we had it running in 20 mins. Good job as it was below 0 and dark. Will have to get some stickers for the bike so you can spot me. Currently running racing number 156 on yellow backgrounds although this will change as I'm doing a 12hr painfest at the end of august and the Dyfi 2 Day Enduro at the beginning of August.

Just on the Leicestershire (Loads of Lanes, Loads of Ruts) border.
A typical day out from my place on the bikes is Thorpe Langton to Grantham and back, cross country. You can't do that in a 4x4. Keeps you fit too, except when you fall off. Trees are particulary painfull.
KTM = no passengers = no moaning
Not been greenlaning in 4x4 seriously for 20 years apart from a very brief foray with a Jeep. 6 months ownership of which 4 months were spent in the garage with a forgettable Kia saloon as a courtesy car. Nice.
As billing is pretty much on the doorstep, I'm more than likely to get there.

For my sins I am near Kettering. Need to speak with you about some local greenlanes maybe. We explore with the Jimny, then send in the bigger ones if the Jimny can get through. Very low key, just for fun normally. I am off to a Classic Boat meeting now, but perhaps we can speak tomorrow BN

As a TRF (Trail Riders Fellowship) member, I have many marked up maps of the area and have ridden problably all the available lanes around here. Speak tomorrow as I'm busy also trying to find a new trailer for the bikes.
