Hi All,
I've just registered but have been watching this site for ages.Very useful and informative. Maybe now I can contribute! I have a 07 TDV6 HSE, 185000km, Bull bar, Winch, UHF etc. Just completed Adelaide to top of Cape York via Birdsville, Mt Isa, and Cooktown, Bamaga and back (10,600km) with off-road van and no problems.Great car!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all,
Cheers.

I have recently joined the forum in hope of help with my 06 DISCO3.
I started it to move to let my husband out the driveway but when selected d there was nothing, tried r again no motion, well some - the slowest crawl imaginable.
Could it be the EGR valve? Can they be blanked off? If so can my husband do it.
It's Christmas holidays and have until the start of Jan when I need my vehicle to commute to school again! Help, please. Emma

Welcome - Preferably you want the fault codes read from your vehicle. One would imagine with such behavior there would be some....

Hi All,
Just bought myself a D3 and checking out the info - Having had previous a 90, Defender and a couple of D2's in the past I'm preparing myself for the inevitable I suppose.
Its kicking off with an initial issue which is a suspension fault and I'm going to post elsewhere regarding that, but for now - Hello, and Merry Christmas!

Hi all, just joined as I'm thinking of buying a Discovery, can't decide between the 3 or the the 4, I'm sure there must be lots of people been through this dilemma. Is there a thread somewhere identifying the benefits of one to the other? I want to use it for outdoors stuff like hillwalking and I'd like to try some greenlanes. If I buy a 4 am I likely to trash it if I do actually take it iff road? What will a 3 give me that a 4 won't? Also I've not heard great things about Land Rover reliability, is the 4 any more reliable or vice versa? One other question is it worth doing the Land Rover experience day or is there a 3rd party who offer something better?
Thanks.

Hey! My name is Staffan and just bought me a disco 4 hse 2011. There is little to do on it but that comes first is a change of timeing belt and some bushes in the front.
I'm going from disco 2 E to a well-equipped disco 4 HSE. The idea is that I will fix the car by myself and take advantage of my friends in the Swedish Land Rover Club if I need help.
There will be many questions along the way, but I already think that most of the answers are already in the forum.
Cheers Staffan only dead fishes follow the stream

Hi All,
Just a quick hello to you, I recently joined prior to purchasing a Disco 3 did a lot of reading as to common faults etc so I knew what to look for. The site is such a great resource.
So a few months back I purchased a 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Stornoway Grey it had 165,000 on it at purchase currently 167,500. it has a very comprehensive service history from Hereford Landrover, MJ Fews Ltd (Main Dealer) and Steve Hill Land Rover Specialist in Bristol.
I really love driving the thing although a bit of shock to the pocket from my Mk6 Golf! I will be looking to do a few subtle upgrades to the car over the coming months such as colour coding, reverse parking camera, might put some Disco 4 wheels on it, but first must sort out the Bluetooth and aux in issues. I hate the Bluetooth, having to put the code in every time and the lack of audio streaming, the quality and volume of the aux in is horrific! I want to keep things as OEM looking as possible so don't want to be installing a Parrot or anything. So any help with a solution here would be much appreciated!
Anyway, hope you all had a great Christmas and best wishes to you all in the new year.
Alex

Hi everyone, Happy New Year.
I'm surprised to find myself the owner of a 2010 D4, it sort of fell into my lap!
I bought a D1 in 1998 and after keeping it new for few years started to get into off-roading, it's now a weekend toy, usual off-road extras fitted, and just been straight through the MOT. I was a member of the DOC for several years before concentrating on my local club in Norfolk.
I've had many conversations with other Landie people bemoaning the way everything is now electronic and the DIY mechanic now struggles with routine maintenance.
But now I have one of those electronic Land Rovers and from reading the forum I think I'll be in touch with some of the site sponsors during the coming years.
I'm at some of the LR shows each year with the local club and will pop round to introduce myself on the D3/D4 stand, I expect I've met some of you before!
Cheers, Danny

Don't seem to be many replies to people's posts in here but may as well start here anyway, just bought a D3, pretty standard S apart from giant D5 wheels and colour coded everything in black, have already ordered an android head unit and all the bits to fit it, reversing camera, am looking to get into the software side of things as I do on my MK4 golf GTi. Still learning what to get or not get. I'm in Hereford area and used to be a radio engineer if anyone needs electronics help. I'm now an enterprise computer Wizard if anyone needs a hand with that. It's been a while since I've had anything to do with the auto scene...

I think you’ll get a better response rate if you have a problem/question and post it in one if the other forums rather than asking on this intro thread.
I’ve started a few threads and have gotten very knowledgeable answers really quick which have helped me.
And welcome
