Welcome A-Plan Insurance!
Well it had to happen one day, we now have an insurance company as a sponsor
I've been approached by a multitude of insurance companies over the years requesting to advertise with us. However the same issues have always come up - there was not one insurer who can look after the needs of site members when it comes to modifications, accessories, value, etc.
Not any more
Having been approached by A-Plan it was clear they were not a usual "computer says no" insurance company and could cope with the wide variety of uses that DISCO3/4 members put their vehicles to.
I met with Steve Marsh (an RRS owner, but be gentle!) and Henry Francis from A-Plan who explained the policies and the service they hope to offer us all.
They had to prove themselves, so with a policy up for renewal they impressed me with a great quote on my (modified) Mini, so I put my money where my mouth is and am now customer, and have been very impressed by the service and attitude throughout.
A-Plan are determined to offer the best overall value insurance: there are no administration fees on policy alterations, no duplicate document fees, no charges for winter tyre use.
There is a account manager for the site, no call centre to deal with and A-Plan offer some old fashioned service in an industry now known for the impersonal nature of a purchase no-one really wants to make!
Please make them feel welcome and let's see how many of our policies they can get
Do let me have any feedback on your experiences of A-Plan, we are hoping this is to be a long term arrangement so all comments at this early stage will help improve things for the future

Mine is due for renewal on the 25th Nov so will give them a try,not had a renewal quote through yet but will see what happens.

Great service from A-Plan
I can highly recommend A-Plan.
I've been with them for the last 6 years.
Albeit not the cheapest but excellent service from the Cheltenham branch.
They have spent 4 years trying to settle a claim
Where my previous car was hit by a 'Horse'
They always look to match comparison websites!
Plus you get to speak to real person in this country!

One question I have is this: Are they able to provide cover for vehicles to be used in places like Morocco, Tunisia, and other places that currently it seems very difficult to get cover for?
Even for a small additional premium, it would be a big selling point for me.

And offroad cover. My cover with NFU is due for renewal mid Feb so if the mods, remap and offroad cover boxes are ticked will get a price & seriously consider.
Unfortunately in reality prob won't be gong to Tunisia next year, interest is academic.

I've been using A-Plan for 10+ years for my cars and businesses. Always had great service and quotes. I use the Bath and Tooting branches.
From my experience, I would highly recommend them.

P.S.: My car has a remap, deCat, V8 brakes, uprated intercooler, blanked EGRs, split charge, expedition rack, ladder and D4 conversion.

Thanks for the welcome and positive comments!
The policies I have to offer will cover all modifications, green lane use, and EU use. For any visits outside EU this can be arranged on a one to one basis.
I will do my very best to look after you all and hopefully save you some money too. There will be times where we will not always be able to better your premiums, but the levels of cover and service you will hopefully find unbeatable.
