A possible problem with my auto box

Hi all ive just purchaed a 2009 discovery 3 with 34k on it . Its an auto.

When it comes to a stop and im auto mode it seems to stay in 2nd gear . Ive confirmed this by putting it in command shift mode. Is this normal or is it a fault... your help would be greatly appreciated

Regards

Phil

Command shift will always shift down to 2nd and then let you pull away in that gear. If you use the lever can you tip down to 1st and then pull away?

The only way you can tell is to look at the signals using a diagnostic tool.
