Not done a reset of the box yet. The California stop patch sounds like a good idea. Need to get myself an iid tool! 08 D3 TDV6 SE

My D3 started making a whistling noise and going into restricted performance mode (turbo actuator fault logged) a couple of months back. I was worried the crossover pipe was the issue but it turned out to be a 1cm long crack in the intercooler hose - I could see oil sprayed in the engine bay at the side of the hose.
My issue seemed to be more apparent when warm, I guessed the rubber hose would become more flexible as it got hotter allowing the crack to leak more.

Both front intercooler hoses are now silicone, which make another new noise! I'm not having any performance issues or visible oil leaks aprat from the weaping vac pump. Fairly sure its at the back of the engine... might have to give in and take it to a garage and foot the bill to find the whine.
Wish i had access to a ramp these days! 08 D3 TDV6 SE

Just picking up on this thread... but was the fitting kit from JAS something that made is feasible to replace the crossover pipe on the driveway without having to lift the body or take the gearbox out?
I've started getting a low rumble which sounds like exhaust blow and I think the crossover pipe may be the culprit.
