Unfortunately Yes Steve, not as glamorous as people think. Like you said, sat in a bush, ditch, cave for DAYS before a known target, patrol. Crapping in bags so you can take away with you, eating only cold or uncooked rations, no flames, not allowed to smoke and the list goes on and on.
Nice hardware kit though, Laser designator in Iraq, illuminate target, Yanks blow to bits with Smart Bombs, at there low flying tactical speed of Mack 3, 20,000 feet (cos thats a close they dared), and me, a walking bush/rock 500 yards away

Looks like a model version of my L-96A1, standard Nato round 7.62mm, unlike the SA80 5.56mm. Was able to punch through the WALL of any insurgent ducking behind it

It appears his argument for buying one is full of holes, or has been shot to pieces I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

Like for like on a scale, if it were the same size as a Challenger II, the tanks barrell would need to be 8 times bigger to pack the same stopping power.
And guess what. 8 Were lost in NI somehow

mate of mine just bought a navara, looks quite nice, pretty good spec inside,
the two things that got me were
1. coil sprung front and leaf spring rear....
2. no traction control, in a pic-up that is rear wheel drive in normal circumstances with no weight in the back combined with the leaf springs seams to me to be asking for trouble, and he found out about 2 days into ownership, spun it in the wet...
nice car for the money though, he paid under 16k brand new pre reg totr
