I don't have this velcro on my 2006 HSE, I did spot it on a 2009 SE we borrowed recently.

I fitted a similar thing to a new 3 series beemer I had a couple of years ago, the passenger one (when unoccupied) used to rattle like mad against the centre console, I guess its doing the same job on the D3.Clive

Its a Ford thing,SWMBO's Mondeo has it too,it stops the thing banging off the centre box.Ties in nicely with the Ford "lights on"warning light.seat belt warning "boing" etc 2007 TDV6 XS Auto.

I took mine into the stealers, and they said I could have it fitted as an upgrade, but they would need the car for the day (at least), didn't know how much it would cost, but suggested it would be mega £'s, and couldn't promise that it would be sucessful in stopping the chattering noise from my front passenger seat Never get mad - get even !!
06 D3 now gone to family member and still going strong at 265k

Was on Rovers years ago. On R600 there was a cost down to remove it from the drivers buckle on principle it can only rattle when driven and if driven the driver has a belt on but may not be carrying a passenger.....
