What's wrong with red?
Hi everyone!
I'm new on this forum and I'm seriously considering to buy a Disco3 - IN RIMINI RED! But there are hardly any Discos - or for that matter any other new red cars - out there. Everybody seems to get the ( boring ) silver or occasionally black one. I'm worried it will have a lower resale value if I wan't to get a new one in three years. Any ideas?
Anybody else here from Belgium? If so, do you now a dealer you could recommend? I asked one dealer and was bluntly told that even if the car brakes down during the guarantee period I won't get a replacement if I drive it to the garage myself .

Saw one today in Manchester and personally it looked plain wrong on the D3... sorry.
Maybe why not many have them so it may affect resale value I guess.

In the US, Red is the worst seller next to Gold on the LR3. I never see them. I've seen a few red Range Rover Sports, though. It looks OK.

Saw a gold RRS today - not good. Red just doesn't seem to suit it, yet D2s in Alveston were nice, maybe it is the shade. White cars look bad in the UK, but looking at the pictures of our Aussie and US friends and they look great. Anyway its a personal choice, if you like it buy it. Saw a red one last week and, a bit grubby and it looks... well looks a bit shabby - I think Solid Red might work - like the G4 onesSteve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

The red D3 looks OK if you bling it up a bit, with chrome side bars, and mirror caps etc. Not exactly my thing, but I saw one last week and it was OK. Without the sparkles it would have been a bit dull.

Solid P.O. red would probably look good on a D3, can't say I like any of the current reds on one, as have seen them both on the road. Don't know what it is, they just don't look right, can't define easily why.
Can't understand why LR didn't include/carry over Monte Carlo blue as I think this would/could look stunning

I've never seen a red one, but the gold is quite ugly. A sales guy at my local dealership said they had a gold one on the lot so long with no buyers that they had to make it the service loaner.

Thanks for the answers! The pictures in Husky's gallery are AWESOME in my opinion . But I guess "investing" 50K (in euros) in a car which I won't be able to sell easily is foolish.
When will the silver-phase be over, however? Now almost all new cars are silver-colored, but there will probably be a time in the future when that color will be considered to be old-fashioned or outdated, won't there?

In North America.... Silver, Black and White are always in the top of the car color popularity statistics year after year. They really never go out of style.
Gray seems to be the next "hot" color around here...

I’ve seen a couple of Rimini Red D3’s & I think they look………..â€fineâ€
Although I would have to agree there is something not quite right about them……they look heavy or something ?
The Td’5s looked fab in Alveston, but there’s just something about the D3 in Rimini.
My fave colour for a D3 or a RRS is Bonatti with Alpaca…….mmmmmm!
I’ve also seen Silver with Alpaca, which looks very well too.
My D3 is sliver with ebony, but that was due to dealer stock, but it would still have been in my top three colours, had I a choice.
