Wheel alignment

Sorry for the newbie post in case it has already been covered elsewhere, I couldn't find it. I recently acquired a MY06 D3 TDV6 S and needed to swap out the space saver wheel for a full size due to towing requirements. I thought that since I was getting new tyres done anyway I might as well get the alignment checked.

According to the Kwik-Fit chap (and I'm pretty sure he knows his stuff) he found that the front wheels, when correct for normal suspension height, were 2mm toe in at off-road height and 2mm out at crawler height. This seems odd, has anyone else found this to be the case?

Duckworth my local LR dealer charged me £150 and do a much better job

The first time i did mine was a local tyre garage who said they could do it but obviously couldnt put the car into tight tolerance mode to align the wheels properly and that cost me £80+VAT

You get what you pay for Thumbs Up Pay that little extra and get LR to take a look

I agree with Matt, i had mine done by Yeovil LR a couple of weeks ago & it drives much better now & only cost £99 all in. I have a copy of the redout sheet showing the figures that come back if that's any use to you (means nothing to me)?

Quite normal. Alignment will be out at different ride heights since you will be on dirt when in off road height and going slow in access it wont make a difference.

Just had the wheel alignment done on minbe after fitting new AT2's. After having the tyres done I had a wiobble at about 50mph, had them rebalanced, but it was still there.

- full wheel alignment fixed it Smile
- but they left the steering wheel crooked Evil or Very Mad
- so an hour and a half today to drive there, wait and drive back Rolling Eyes

Still all fixed now Smile

Where did you get yours done Mr Fudge?

Some googling says James French have 4-wheel alignement system and they are in Oxford area.

Local dealer wants £115, including the computer time to put suspension into tight tolerance mode for the alignment.

Had it doen at Hartwell - according to them its 2 hours labour so £115 doesn't seem too bad.
