Wheel squeal

Dear all

This is a bit random, but as the weather has turned hotter, I’ve noticed my back left tyre seems to ‘squeal’.

I’m talking the ‘turning in the uderground carpark’ kind of squeal, only I’ve noted that it happens then going round left ha d turns, but also on braking in a straight line.

No sign the traction control or abs is kicking in.

Outside temp is circa high twenties to thirty.

Any ideas?

The back tyres both have a good 6mm and are premium brand with even tread wear. Discs are lipped, but not due replacement.

Pads are new,

It Does sound like there is a problem with your DSC/ABS, it could also be a sticking caliper.

Can you plug your IID and see what's happening? I had this recently on another vehicle and it was a chaffed ABS cable causing the problem.

Also check the brake shoes as the material breaks down and bits get jammed between disc and remaining material. I had a 1/4” piece get wedged and it was a horrific noise. It would only squeal at low speed and left turns (it was LH shoe that broke down). New discs, new pads and new shoes.
