Did it slightly different in Aus. High lift jack on the bead edge and jack the car up. Bead broke very quickly. Same principle as Al Cope.

Yes, it's called the Red Neck method..think on Youtube.. Shocked

just drive the car over the tyre.
have done it out in the fields, but only with ATV tyres... Sheep
Could imagine it will screw the Landy tyre up thou.

hitting it with a hammer probably wont work as the rubber will just bounce. You need something with a constand push to break the bead. I have seen someone jack their car up, put the tyre underneath with a block of wood on the tyre next to the bead and under the car suspension, and lower it down, using the weight of the car to brek the tyre bead. (if that makes sense)

Hi

That does make sense with relation to it bouncing

Funny enough did see this

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tire-Changer-Ma...SwpcFd1fex

But then thought of how many times would I use it , plus there’s how much force I can put on it with my back

Have got a hydraulic puller, can remove the arms so just have the unit on its own, just a case of trying to work something out as would be ideal putting a piece of wood on the bead and have the hydraulic ram push down, would make life easier that’s for sure

Just been racking my brains of how to utilise it , ie workmate of something ???? , maybe some rope Through the rim holding the ram

Yeh i know, you would want some pics for a good morning laugh , snigger

Many thks as always

doesnt need to be a high lift - your D3 jack would do, its the wieght of the car pushing down that you need.

Many thks , must admit because I haven’t done that before don’t fancy trying it by lowering the landy , just in case it goes wrong and being on my own would worry me for the what IFs

May of thought of a way to get the bead off, have like a small cupboard outside that’s made of brick, so am wondering if I stand the tyre up in the door way , maybe putting some wood behind to make the door way narrower to then use the hydraulic ram with a piece of wood to push the bead off

Hopefully in theory it should work

Sssssssshhhhhhhhhh don’t tell @hardware

Thought I would try this for my spare wheel

Got to have a read up to see if the sand that came with the gun is suitable for alloy , says on the box 45-100 and on the bottles #60 so alas will need to find a website to see the different media

Fingers crossed i can soon get back on my feet enough so can have a play with this

My compressor is 9.5 Cfm / 120 Psi , 50 x litre , so should be ok just to do this wheel

Also if both containers will be enough , 2 x bottles of 850g , does say it catches some of it and got a big sheet I can lay down, plus will keep candy indoors out the way

Plus of course if I can only use sand in the gun

I tried to flatten a 45 gallon oil drum against a wall, using my Defender.

All that succeeded in doing, was making a dent in the wall where the drum tried to push through Laughing
