Brian, are Continental ContiCrossContact AT's any good because they do those in 17", mind you I'm not sure if they are available in this country yet. What are the Coopers that you keep referring too, I'd like to look on the web at them can you point me in the correct direction and is it true that Nene can get them.

I'm not sure, but I don't think the Continenetal is in the country,if they were I sure I would have been told by now. Coopers are just down the middle tyres, but quite tough. Tread pattern is a good on/off road but predominantly off road patten. Take a look at
http://www.coopertires.com.au/tyres/st.htm
They have a nice bit of rubber to absorb or allow dropping the pressure.

I was thinking only for off road use as they will throw too many stones in the UK anyway on road. I like the idea of smaller rims and more rubber. RLD agrees and boy he should know, I doubt if anyone on site has done as much off roading around the world as him. Not only is his 130 specked out to make me sooooooo envious he is now specking out his HSE with winches etc and he uses them off road believe me and if he says more rubber, I go with that.

Yep 116mph for the UK and Europe. So just in. Maybe different in different parts of the world according to regs.

Just been reading our Australian friends trip with interest (General page ) and he`s running on BFG AT `s 265 70 17 on the standard 17" rim.
Anyone else running on the same set up ? I think these are superb tyres and have tended to always use them on Landys, but what side affects apart from raising vehicle by a couple of centimetres would swapping to this size have ??

you can fit the cooper st and stt 275/65/18 on the standard Lr 18" wheels tho they do rub a little on the rear wheel arches, I got the STT's on mine.

I have been running BFG AT 265 70 17's on my Disco for close to 8000 km.
No problems, other than the occasional rub on the rear inner plastics - Nothing serious though. Only occurs if travelling at high speed through a ditch in the road with a load.
Exceptional off road performance & looks really great!
