Whining on revving and leaked steering fluid

Hi all

Just had the disco4 whinging when revving whether stationary or driving. Looked under bonnet and steering fluid is below the min line and there is a leak underneath the left side of the engine (odd as steering reservoir is on right side).

Is the whining on revving likely to be connected to the leak? Can I drive it to the garage and will it be expensive?

Thanks in Advance

Could be leaking from rack.

Yes that is the noise.
Driving it is likely to mean the pump also requires replacement. £££

If the leak isn’t too bad you could top it up and drive to garage.

These take green fluid though.

Thanks.

The fluid is below the min level but still some in there. Garage is 5 miles away so not far.
