Whirring noise on accelerating
My 2012 D4 is making a more pronounced “whirring” noise as it accelerates through the gears. The pitch to the sound increases with the revs and cuts out on gear change. It’s kinda the normal acceleration sound…but more pronounced. Any thoughts?

Does the noise change with engine revs or road speed?
Engine revs effects noise - engine or gearbox input related
Road speed - gearbox, diff, prop shaft or wheel bearing.
Edit - sorry - you have put the answer to this in you original post. Serves me right for being trigger happy....Series one 1949 - in bits, chassis is strapped to the ceiling in my garage (beside the canoe)
LR 90 - In bits
Disco 3 - currently in bits

It’s like a whizzing noise linked directly to the accelerator pedal. As I say, it breaks when the gears change. I just topped the engine oil but don’t imagine that has anything to do with it.
