When JF Lux got stuck, the winch was needed. An attempt to tow him out didn't succeed. Ever imagined a D3 "hull down"? He was well dug in. What I don't understand is that he got stuck but I had just driven through the same problem. Must be down to superior tyres on my car.
When I got stuck, I could have very probably backed out of the problem but I was happy to use the winch again. Practice makes perfect ... not.

You can recover a lot with a good kinetic rope, but in a lot off situations I prefer a winch as it is more controlled and you can see better what is going on. Roel

I finally got round to ordering a new winch rope. It arrived today. £34.85 plus VAT from Arbil.
