I'd say heating elements not working is a real problem.
I will have to wait until tomorrow morning to see if mine clears properly. 05 V8 HSE Bonatti Grey

I do agree Moo, but my excess is the same either way, it is the principal of the matter!05 V8 HSE Bonatti Grey
I have had a text to say they are coming today with a Pilkington windscreen............
Fingers crossed it happens, MOT is due and a cracked windscreen is not going to be looked upon very favourably by the garage no doubt! ------------------------------

New windscreen, which was a Pilkington, had a major defect and could not be fitted. The two fitters were very apologetic but not much they could do but reorder another screen.
This is now going to be a problem as my MOT will be due before the 7-10 days wait. ------------------------------

On phone to them now trying to get Disco Sport pan-roof replaced....
Edit; bit of back and forth about it being a JLR company car so I'm not a customer in my own right, we have an 'account'. I then had to google to get head office address for him as "computer says no" if he doesn't put that in......
I then get an OK, what day would I like it done and where. I say ASAP to suit availability and at home address as I can work from home and have car-port they can work in, not expecting a quick availability of glass TBH. I'm given Monday 18th December as the option to have it done with choice of am or pm..........hmmmm, really?
I am now expecting a call back to explain that they don't have glass in stock, needs ordering and what with Christmas coming, etc. would end of January be OK......
Lets see

Rang them this morning as not had a call back and whilst car is registered on system nothing has been done. Call handler admitted that they should have verified stock and come back to me but no activity had taken place at all.
Asked how (surprisingly) I had been given a fitment date and after a pause she admitted I had been fobbed off basically. Said I hope the handler of initial call had been identified on the system and would be dealt with (I expect not ).
Just had a call and a new screen has been found, booked in for Saturday morning.
Lets hope it happens as MOT runs out next Tuesday!! ------------------------------

Which is one of the many reasons I always get the MOT done at least a few weeks before its due... whenever possible! It makes no difference to the next MOT date..... as we know.... 2016MY Discovery HSE - Black

If it fails a few weeks early you're still stuffed, unless you have an alternative vehicle to use. The days of "it failed but I'll drive it on the old MOT" are gone. Once it's failed you can only drive it to a garage or MOT station. Otherwise you're driving a vehicle without an MOT.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

I took a chance and took it for an MOT this morning, the crack/chip was not an MOT failure in the end, only an advisory. I showed the booking confirmation from Autoglass that it was being done Saturday, but he decided anyway it was not in the no go zone!! 8)
So lets hope Autoglass manage to replace Saturday.......... ------------------------------

Wrong!
My wifes MOT runs out 4.11.18 and it says 'to preserve the anniversary of the expiry date, the earliest you can present your vehicle for test is 5.10.18'
So it can be taken in some 3 - 4 weeks before it expires........ 2016MY Discovery HSE - Black

But from what SWMBO was saying (who am I to argue) if it fails on something the car is then considered unroadworthy.
