yes in deed FU.. YOU!!
Pilkington with optikool would be enough for my 11years old Disco or is it worth to replace old one with OE LR Pilkington Optikool? Possibly higher excess needed to be paid for the latter one.Disco 3 HSE (55) - gone

Autoglass guy arrived with this!!!!
He told me it was the office who ordered the glass and it was nothing he could do. Today he placed an order for the OE LR one. He already mentioned I might pay extra for it as insurance (AXA)might not have OE screen as standard replacement part!!!!
They will contact me today when they will have it delivered and possibly fitted.
So games begin...
Ah, the old "your insurer won't like it" line. Check your policy documents. Many have a figure e.g. £1000 cover for windscreens. An LR screen is less than £1000 so no reason for insurer to care - Autoglass care because they'll charge a figure and then source a much cheaper screen. Hence the Chinese sounding name on the one they brought you.

my insurer (admiral) said no to oe stuff. But did promise pilkington.
allegedly the fitter was given the Fuyau stuffJames favourite hobby is writing in the third person.

UPDATE:
Got Autoglass fitter to replace the screen. He did really good job. Screen is identical to LR one less the LR stamp and £570 odd price difference.
He also relocated my sticker and he made the gray plastic below the screen look black again!!
Top service.

I believe the Fitting companies are making money out of the Insurance companies, this is my tale...
Tuesday morning of this week, on my way to work an object, maybe a bird struck my windscreen and smashed it, It was half light at the time.
I rang my insurance company to make a claim, they put me in touch with Auto windscreens, who take all the details and inform me that it's doubtful I will get an OE screen...So I ring the ins co. back and complain,so they say they will try another fitting company namely National Windscreens, who happen to have a branch 1 mile from my home address.
Later a sincere sounding manager rings from National Windscreens and we discuss the possibilities of an oe screen and he also seems to think it will not be authorised but does tell me that Landrover supply them with new clips foc!!!
Still waiting for a fitting date as of today so I rang NW to be told that still no authorisation from ins co.
I ring insurance myself to be told that no authorisation needed OE can be fitted....so back on phone to NW
who say they will ring me back after contacting my ins co.
This evening NW manager rings to say that under duress the insurance co. has authorised an OE screen
And they have ordered one from Landrover that will be delivered and fitted Monday.
I think NW wanted me to accept the cheaper option, but I held out for OE.
Just make sure before it's fitted that it is the LR or the Pilkington Optikool, many of us have been told the same and and had something else when they come to fit it.

Dadon my ins is with ageas thru rias broker
Sometimes it pays to be an old git ha
With National Windscreens....they quibbled & bellyached...
But I called thier bluff & said I woul buy an OEM screen (over £600..00) available next day as opposed to thier quote of weeks.
Get them to fit it then make a claim against my policy..
Then spoke to brokers.....instant action
The screen is Pilkingtons Opticool but hasn't the got the LR logo....these only go to LR as OEM partsBREXIT - done properly.
