Windscreen washer problem
Went to use windscreen washer this morning (-6degrees) and the fuse instantly blew, second time this has happened over 4 years. Last time Landrover assistance told me it was a common problem and to make sure the washer jets were clear before using. I was wondering if anyone else has had this and if it would help if I replaced the 10 amp fuse with a 15 amp instead. Also, is it just me or has anyone else found that replacing fuses under the glove box is an absolute b*****d!

Also washers won't work if washer system frozen solid as summer screen wash in system. Have mine rich enough for -12c, was in -7c today and washers worked great, front and rear.

Not sure as mine doesn't have headlamp washers but if the windsreen washer freezes and fuse has blown there is no noise from the pump then under the glove box it is fuse no 11 (10amp). I managed to replace it but it is quite difficult to reach.

reaching the spare fuse is the one .........especially in the dark
Just had exactly the same problem. Didn't put a a strong enough mix of washer fluid, washer jets froze and fuse 11 blew.
I must have just used a full months worth of bad language trying to get the spare fuse out from the bottom of the fuse board
while trying to balance a torch
Ended up dropping the fuse extractor behind the glove box and had to go to Halfords for a spare fuse...

you have to learn to resist pressing the little button on the end of the stalk when the temperature is zero or below - touch wood, I've never blown mine on either of the D3's - unlike SWMBO Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Someone posted this elsewhere - tie a length of string or cotton to the extractor before you start - then you can 'extract' the extractor wheh you drop it - which you surely will Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)
That's a good tip. I ran out of time, so the extractor is still down there. (At least the washers are working now though )

When mine blew 2 years ago I struggled like hell to get the fuse back in so this time I was very wary. Guess what, fuse went in first time and I was so amazed that I'd done it without problem that I took it out again to check..........Then spent ages trying to get it back Felt like a complete pillock.

Same problem for the last two days.
Headlamp washers work but none of the others do and no pump noise.
Found the fuse, but are there any spare on the car anywhere? Couldnt identify any
