2014 discovery HSE Tyre pressure sensor 4 or 5?

Just joined & picked up car last week.
Had a puncture a couple of days ago, put on spare & then shortly after driving away, tyre pressure warning from spare tyre location.

After some research I found the spare didn't have a pressure sensor, so that's why its in alarm.
Checked the drivers hand book & it states the TPM can monitor the spare pressure.

Searched the web & found several notes on spare tyre pressure causing problems.

Called Land Rover customer service to find out if car was shipped with 4 or 5 sensors i.e 1 for each running tyre & 1 for the spare.

Surprise - they couldn't tell me.

Does anyone know what was the norm for D4 in 2014

Welcome.

Just a thought you do have a full size spare wheel ?

I ask because I believe that if TPMS was fitted by LR & there was a full sized spare, it would have been fitted to all five wheels.

I suggest you go to your tyre fitters & crack the bead on a single tyre to read the part number of the TPMS valve fitted.

A dealer can give you a print out showing the TPMS valve numbers:-

Search "TPMS" here - you will see that it's a nightmare! Good luck.

Hand book states: TPM fitted to full size spare, not to space saver!
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Many thanks for all the comments.
Yes it is a full size tyre.
As far as I can tell the valve neck shape indicates if its a standard valve or a TPM valve - TPM valve has a hexagon "nut" near the cap. Non TPM has no "nut".
My spare has no "nut".

I now have a Foxwell diagnostic tool so I will have a "dig" into it to see if I can find a disabled sensor for the spare.

As an aside - I have a very good D2 ES premium I want to sell.
Any suggestions on where I could advertise it would be appreciated.

I would put money on the spare not having a sensor because the spare wheel and tyre were probably stolen and the previous owner just replaced the spare wheel with and one with a standard tyre valve. If I were you I would fit a RLD spare wheel protector before it goes missing again Thumbs Up

if yours has the rubber valve stem not the bolt in type then there is no TPMS valve fitted to that rim.
