yes I know.. sorry.. Tyre sizes. |
|
I hate asking tyre size questions, but its just something I struggle to get my head around.
I currently have 255/60/18 Pirelli Scorpion ATR's fitted.
Im not over the moon with them, wet weather they aren't great and aquaplane horrifically, and they were ok in the snow, but I did get stuck on my driveway, even after driving all down county lanes, up hill, down slopes and over a bit of rough undriven ground when I had to reverse out of a lane that a lorry was blocking. The drive way was fresh undriven snow on a bed of rough, loose dirt. I expected better, but I just lost traction and thats as that, all 4 wheels spinning on compacted snow.
So anyway..
I'd like to get something better, for both on road and off road, plus the ability to handle snow as where I live now gets its fair share and the gritters don't venture down here.
I was thinking either GG AT3's or Duratracs, but the size is confusing me.
I can't find any in the same size as I have, and Im not sure what I can get away with. I don't mind them being bigger and beefier, but I don't want to have to lift or otherwise modify the car.
Would 265/60's fit ok without rubbing or modification?
Should I look at getting 19 inch wheels instead for better choice?
Any other sizes I can look at to fit my 18 inch wheels?
TIA
