Any thoughts on how to split this lot. My axe makes no impression at all.

I dropped a load of waste oak and soft wood to a friend who does charcoal. He had a burn on the go and I helped set the base of another kiln. Very interesting, just a shame I had to get back.

Got wood?

Hi guys, long shot but . . .

Does anyone have any 'rounds' that I could have/buy from you that would be appropriate to use as chopping blocks please?

I'm teaching my Scouts axe & saw work at the mo and it's quite time consuming having 20 kids queuing up to use one axe & chopping block Rolling with laughter

I'm based in North Yorkshire but am travelling back from Fort William on Thursday arvo/evening if there happens to be anybody en route!

On that note, if anyone has any knackered axes I could have/buy to resharpen for a good cause in the area please let me know,

TIA!

From the sound of your comment you'd be surprised at the kind of adventurous activities Scouts get up to these days!

Hopefully you're in support of proper education in the use of tools such as knives, axes and saws so that generations to come have a healthy relationship with these tools and we avoid future Daily Mail headlines of knife crime etc.?

Thanks for your interest though Thumbs Up

You will see from my Posts on here that I teach my Grandkids log splitting with tractor hydraulic power but they also get to use an axe on carefully selected items so my Insurance comment was just a jibe really.

Keep up the good work Thumbs Up

Anyone else noticed how a few of the 'experts' on reality shows actually use a chainsaw with a 'normal saw' type action.

Amuses me no end Thumbs Up
