Cooper ST or STT on 17's is the norm for chunky tyres.

I'd run 19" with MTR Mr. Green Mr. Green Mr. Green

Failing that, if you're using it for daily drive as well as off road, then the ST will be fine with a little extra tyre rumble. STT are better off road, but are quite a lot noisier. Personally, too loud to use those all the time, although I think DiscoDunc does (but he's old and now probably deaf...... Whistle Whistle Wink ) Bodsys Brake Bible

Just my personal choice for a good combination, plenty run MTR's all the time, but there's also some that run the 17 with ST's.

There's a slight road noise with the MTR's (as expected) but I know they can cope with a lot more than the driver can Embarassed Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible

It was bad enough last time with 5 extra tyres in the back taking up space that the family would have normally used...
