I live in the Pyrenees and we have the joy of 80cm snow this week and -7 currently at home. I am on a new set of General Grabber but chose the GT spec because i do a lot of road driving and its windy here so rips up winter tyres a lot.
They also don't grit here. Ever
Not had the slightest issue, sails past most cars that are slipping about on the inclines.
I've only recently changed from a BMW X5. That was pretty useless in the white stuff, even with very expensive snow tyres.2006 tdv6 s Cairns blue

Should add that I'm only on good year wrangler m+s tyres. Worked perfect
The snow tyres make a big difference too
