Are Wrangler M&S tyres any good?

I have a spare set of 18s with Goodyear Wrangler MS tyres. Are these ok as a winter tyre eg for my drive to the alps OR am I better off with a better tyre?

well, just bought an ex-highways D3 with 190k miles on the clock.

Looked at the service record, shows the vehicle using wranglers all round and cover an average of around 30k miles before changing.

Ok it goes "A" ROAD TO MOTORWAY, but still represents a generally good overall impression give that the vehicle drives on tarmac in all weathers.

Ran Pierelli's on our DISCO 2, done some 15k miles with little wear on the ones we changed in the summer

My view is if there good for HA in all weathers, good enough for me!!!

Mind you, they do cost alot, around £135 plus vat, £177 inc vat at QUICKFIT!!! I should know, just had a new one put on today coz the backs were running at 4mm on one side and 5mm on the other, and the rear was brand new, so stuck the 5mm as spare and moved the spare on to the car along side the newly replaced one!!
