Xenon lights conundrum 2014MY Facelift XS

2014MY Facelift XS
I've now got a facelift pair and fitted them to test.

I expected the Xenon bulbs to come on briefly and then go out since the CCF hadn't been edited. This is the expectation as I have read on this forum.

What happened was they came on and stayed on and work just fine. Winner!

So either:-
1) The previous owner edited the CCF and the previously fitted halogens (HIR2 bulbs) have been running without soft start or,
2) On a 2014MY XS facelift model the CCF doesn't need editing to get Xenon or halogen to work properly or
3) The Xenon bulbs shouldn't be working but for some reason they are!

Has anyone had similar experience?? I'll get the CCF checked anyway when I get timed climate activated.

If go back and try them once the car has fully gone to sleep Whistle

I'd arrange to do the CCF edit for a member who experienced the same as you, so he cancelled, I said that I'd see him soon, sure enough next day he had to drive home on fog lights and I met him to edit the CCF Thumbs Up

Thanks for that. I figured it was a bit odd and would have had the CCF checked anyway.

Any idea why they would work initially??
