XS vs HSE
Dear all,
Looking at a 2011 XS, and was just curious what the difference between the XS and HSE was.
Can anyone enlighten me?
There’s a list on the wiki for the D3, but probably not relevant.
Kind regards
Andy

HSE has a sunroof which gives you a fraction more headroom. HSE seats have more adjustment. Both factors were important for me.
I can’t remember if the XS has heated rear seats as standard, the HSE does.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

yes XS (well mine did) had heated front seats but not rears. XS has (as standard) manually adjustable seats but might have had the electric pack option, which give same movement as HSE seats.
HSE had better audio setup as well I think. XS had satnav and climate. Different alloys (style).

Does the XS have arm rests?

But prob way worse than the D3 it’s replacing. The audio in my 06MY D3 S was seriously waaaaaaaaay better than my 11MY D4 HSE.

The HSE has better seats, upgraded audio, electrically adjustable seats and a reversing camera as well as different alloy wheels. Most of the extras on the HSE were options on the XS, so if there's an XS you see for sale, it's worthwhile checking it out anyway. For a bit less money (not sure there's a great difference on 8 year old cars now, price being more about condition, mileage and service history) you might get what you want.

Thanks all
So, would suggest I should be able to upgrade the XS to HSE spec if I can source parts from eBay?
Most interested in flappy paddles on the steering wheel as it’s still got the stick selector

my MY12 XS has heated pleather front seats rather than leather but I find pleather to be harder wearing anyway. No armrests as standard though and no sunroof/pan roof
I do have privacy glass, 4x4 info, timed climate and reverse camera though which were standard on the HSE.
The only downside, if you can call it that, on my XS is that it doesn't have Xenon lights which were standard on HSE, but if you have the budget and access to IID that's not a major issue.2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

IMO, it’s less hassle and money to buy an HSE in the first place rather than “upgrade” afterwards. Even with all the extras you’ll still have an XS come sale time.
Of course, as above posts, you may find an XS with the spec you want. You’ll not have a sunroof though.
Good luck with your search. 👍2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Problem is that from what I’ve seen in Gib, there is very little choice.
I’ve been watching a few weeks, and this is the first disco 4 I’ve seen come up.
In respect of the 4x4 screen, the can has the sat Nav, so if the 4x4 screen is not there, can I just enable it with the IID tool, same as with the D3?
Also, full leather seats, no sunroof or panoramic roof, which now I’m thinking about it is a downside.
I thought they all had glass in the roof.

My XS came with the pan roof! (2014) Also came with electric seats/arm rest pack.
The only other thing I wanted was reversing camera (can be done for £300) and the signature lights...but lets be honest, I can't see them when I'm driving, so.....2014 D4 XS
