XY switch issue advise please.
sorry if this is the wrong section!
right the disco is a 2008 commercial 6spd manual
clutch is of unknown age but does not slip
truck has 200,000 on it
battery is less than 2 months old
gear leaver does have some sideways slop but engages all gears without fuss
now the fault is the Bong and E in the display soon followed by the warning for loss of auto
hand brake all of which clears with a shutdown restart cycle.
but unlike all the other posts i have read mine ONLY faults when selecting 6th HOWEVER
with further testing if i very gently go from N or any other gear to 6 moving or stationary
then it displays 6th and engages just fine but once in 6th if i so much as tap the stick it faults instantly
all other gears give no issue at all and the reset does nothing any ideas before i spend a silly amount of money on a new sensor just to have a quiet life in 6th!

Search for xy sensor calibration. There is a manual process, which does not require a diagnostic tool.Richard
